Oculus TrayTool - SuperSampling profiles, HMD disconnect fixes (hopefully)

Level 8
Oculus Tray Tool
current version: 0.87.3

What is it?
In short; It’s a free application that helps you get the most out of your Rift. It is developed by me, ApollyonVR, with the support of the community for beta testing. Please note that this application is not an official piece software from Oculus, I am not affiliated with Oculus in any way. Any issues you
have with this application should be reported to me and not Oculus support. You can reach me here on the forums or by contacting me at

Oculus Tray Tool (OTT) has many features that will hopefully help you get the very best VR experience. It has options that help you automatically switch audio and microphone to the Rift and back, handle the Oculus runtime service, voice commands, batch import Steam games (added to OTT by the awesome @headkaze over at, replace icons for your games and more.

It’s primary feature however, is the ability to create “Profiles” for you VR Games and apps.
Within these Profiles, you set how Asyncronous SpaceWarp (ASW) should act, increase the perceived resolution by using Supersampling and increase the CPU Priority of a given app to get the most juice out of your system for that specific application.
Once a Profile has been created for a game or app, OTT will detect when it is started and apply the
profile for it, without the need for taking your headset of.

If you want to have a peek at all the things OTT can do for you before installing the application, check the User Guide pdf. The latest version of this application will always be right below this intro, but the app also checks for available updates on startup.

Enjoy, have fun and please report any issues, suggestion or feature requests to me using the above mentioned methods. Oh, and feel free to buy me a coffee by using the PayPal button in-app. 🙂
The very nice people over at have been kind enough to host some mirrors for the setups, so make sure to pay them a visit!
UPDATE 04/20
Thanks to my awesome girlfriend, OTT now has a new home! Check out the new website over at for current and future downloads. Feel free to continue
using this forum for discussions and bug reports.

@ApollyonVR: Hi, I just wanted to say that I've been using your tool for quite some time, and it's been incredibly helpful. Thank you so much for all your hard work.

I hope that the Dash beta hasn't broken it. On my system (updated to 1.21) it still appears to be functioning correctly, including the Visual HUD settings; I don't know about the profiles because I'm not using them ATM.
Hey, did you check out my VR mods for No One Lives Forever 2 and Grand Theft Auto V?

Level 4
OTT now starts up and appears to be okay with the new Dash, however trying to open the profiles window crashes the program (without error message)

Level 15
OTT appears to be working fine for me with the new Dash software.

Can you please take a look at this post:
I have the exact same problem as the poster. I just cant figure it out. Did numerous new installs, tried cleaning the register etc... but the profile page stays broken?

Thanks for the great tool though!! 🙂

@Stevie777 Will PM you and we can have a look.

Level 8
@mtojay There is a update checker in there, which should try and download a version.txt file to check if there is an update. If for some reason that does not work (if OTT is blocked by firewall or similar) there should be some message about that in the ott.log. So take a peak in there or send me a PM with the log and i'll have a look.
@baggyg  Send me the ott.log file and we'll take a peek.

I am rebuilding the profile system to use a SQLite database instead of the config.xml, so things should hopefully improve in next release. Anyone with issues please send me the ott.log from a debug run, so i can get as much info as possible on different errors and have them fixed for next release. To run in debug mode you

1) Start OTT
2) Go to the Tray Tool tab
3) Tick the box at the bottom, "run in debug mode"
4) Close OTT
5) Go to the installation directory and rename the ott.log file
6) Start OTT and replicate the issue.
7) Close OTT again to exit debug mode
😎 PM me the new ott.log
9) Remember to also include what issue you are having and what you did to replicate it.

Thanks apollyonVR, very nice work

Hey, for some reason the Audio Switcher Fallback and the Close OH on Tool exit options aren't working for me.

The Audio Switcher only half works, as in it makes the rift the default audio option on Tool start but whenever I close OTT It doesn't switch back to the DAC I set.

Same story with the Launch OH options, It Lauches OH on Tool start but does not close it on exit.

Edit : I'm on version 0.82.1. The options worked fine on earlier versions, such as 0.70.1, 0.69.1 so I just stayed on those and never updated until now.

Level 8
@Kamikazeing Try resetting the audio options by unticking "Use audio switcher" then ticking it again, and set up your options again. If it works after that then the device id's might have changed following a windows update or similar.
Regarding Home not closing i would need to see the the ott.log, the option it works fine on my pc.
PM me and we'll have a peek.
