Hi all!
It's been a while since i released a new version, but now the time has come! 😃
I'm looking for ppl who want to test the new version before public release.
There are primarily changes for the Quest but anyone is welcome to test it.
Just drop an email to ApollyonVR@gmail.com and i'll get you a download link
and some instructions. Also include what type of headset (Rift or Quest)
that you are using.
Also, i now have a proper domain for the website, so swing by www.ApollyonVR.com
and check out the new Forum! If you have questions, comments or suggestions
that is the place to post them. 😃
Below are the release notes for the new version. Please note that this is a Beta version
for testing the new features. If you just want to use a stable version of OTT then head
over to www.apollyonvr.com and simply download the latest version.
Version 0.87.7
* Oculus Dash will now use the same CPU Priority as what you set for OVR Server.
* Added a "Comments" option to Profiles.
* Implemented Paolod29's code for a permanent AirLink (https://github.com/pd29/oculus-airlink-enabler).
* Added more choices to the Quest Link settings for "Bitrate" and "Encode Resolution".
* Added option for "Force Mipmap generation on all layers" on the Game Settings tab.
* Added option for "Offset Mipmap bias on all layers" on the Game Settings tab.
* Added option for "Force Mipmap generation on all layers" to Profiles.
* Added option for "Offset Mipmap bias on all layers" to Profiles.
* Added option for "Encode Dynamic Bitrate" on the Quest Link tab.
* Added option for "Dynamic Bitrate Max" on the Quest Link tab.
* Added "FOV Multiplier" to Profiles. Setting this to a value lower than 1, for example 0.8,
will increase FPS due to less pixels being drawn at the expense of lower FOV.
* When creating a brand new Profile, the current settings from the Game Settings tab will be used.
This will make it even easier to create a new Profile! Simply experiment with different settings
on the Game Settings tab, and when you have found the perfect combo for a given game those
settings are copied over when you click "Create new Profile".
* Added option to Disable profiles.
* Redesigned the Profiles window a bit.
* Fixed some bugs.

@keem85 OTT works perfect with Air Link for me. You should startup OTT prior to starting up the Oculus app btw.
I found it best to go to the OTT Link tab and disable it there. I think this may interfere with your Oculus desktop app settings. I think it's best to just use the current recommended Oculus desktop app device/Q2/ Quality settings (refresh and res) plus the Q2 dashboard menu air link bitrate at Dynamic/100mbps, at least to start off with.
If you use the same settings as you did with your Link cable you may run into problems. Look at your Oculus Debug Tool and make sure everything is set to defaults (eg. esp. encoding, set to 0 = default). Lots of info on this already.
I use OTT with Air Link mainly just to control SS and ASW (Globally and with Game Profiles). Also, I like its audio switcher and ability to turn on/off the Oculus runtime services. I don't really bother with it's other features. I have used OTT for a long time, starting with my Rift cv1, and it has been, and continues to be one of the most useful addons for good VR imho.
BTW, I really like that OTT works so well with Air Link. This is not the case with wireless using Virtual Desktop because the VD developer has needed to use his own version of Oculus runtime. Too bad since had he been given the rights to utilise this we would have had a better Air Link platform a lot earlier.
Also, if you have not none so, please read the OTT manual. It contains a lot of useful info. Not updated to include Air Link yet though.

Hi @TomCgcmfc How do you disable it in the Link section? I've actually touched nothing.. All I did was to do a completely clean OTT install and set the pixel density. Nothing else is touched other than "start up with windows". I've never had this issue before, so it's new

@keem85 OK, I see that the latest version is now 0.87.4.0 and I checked mine and it is 0.87.2.0. So maybe something has happened with the latest version. Now I'm afraid to update to it, lol! You should not need to worry about the Link part since it usually is disabled by default. When you open the tool you should see Link off to the left/bottom. Select it and at the top of it select disable.
Alternatively you may want to go to the OTT site and download an older version.

Another potential problem you may have is selecting OTT to startup with windows. This may be part of your problem since there are a number of people who have had problems with this. Just use a desktop shortcut for OTT, right click on it and run it as an Administrator (or simply add this to the shortcut if you know how to do this). Maybe try this first and let us know if this helps or not.
Anyway, please let us know how you go, thanks.

Ahh this makes sense, because I had your version prior, and it worked fine. I will revert then 🙂 Thanks!

@keem85 OK I just downloaded the latest 87.4 from the OTT website and it all works fine for me with Air Link. So, maybe if you are having problems with it you should let the developer know and maybe he can help you. Good luck and cheers.
Edit, I wish the mods would pin OTT to the General section like it use to be. It's much too important a tool for Rift and Quest (Link and Air Link) users to be left collecting dust until someone posts something imho.

Does the default super sampling option affect link resolution at all? either air or cable?

@xeno3d With my Q2 I find it best with either Link or Air Link to disable the OTT Link options. Then I use OTT to set global SS and ASW. I have a fairly strong pc (rtx3090) so I set my global ss = 1.6 and ASW = off. I then use OTT game profiles to finetune some games/sims a little more. I'm also doing exactly the same with my Q1 w/Link (no Air Link for this yet). Both SS and ASW function like your would expect.
Just make sure that with Air Link you have a look at ODT and make sure the res = 0. Follow the Oculus Air Link setup for more info;

I've noticed that OculusTrayTool has a tendency to silently crash I presume. It's set to autostart on boot, and it does launch on boot, but occasionally it just disappears from the tray and I have to remember to relaunch it before launching the Oculus app.
How do I begin diagnosing/fixing this?

@ReduxPL The win10 auto startup with OTT has been an issue for a long time so I do not recommend you use this. I just copy the OTT short cut (with admin permissions btw) to my task bar, next to my Oculus app icon. That way I pretty well always get the OTT/Oculus app startup right. Also, since I have a dual PCVR setup (w/Vive Pro) I use the OTT option to turn on/off Oculus runtime services (on when I startup OTT, off when I close OTT). The OTT audio switcher is pretty useful as well imho.

I can not download the new version either on app or site.
