Actually, I think Oculus always releases update after internal test. But as we know, it's almost meaningless. Many people get problems every time. Some of them are critical. PC app update isn't a big problem because there are official & PTC version, but the impact of firmware update is so big. If there is a critical problem, we get paperweight.
And it's a problem that we can't manually update (or revert function to previous versions). With rolling updates, we never know when we receive update. If we get critical problem, we are forced to live with it. Even if you release patch for critical bug, we have no idea when we receive the patch. Annoying. New features are good, but you should care about users more. Please don't make $300 paperweight.
