Same here - but right now my base stations are sleeping, and I'll do my best not to wake them up - not sure I can get them back to sleep without the hmd... Of course I could just unplug them, but finding the right cables in some of the very dark corners of the world isn't that attractive to me. Better let sleeping dogs lie - thus might stay away from SteamVR for some time... Would of course be awesome to see Alyx with the CV1 🤔

In short, I'm considering getting the Oculus version for Into the Radius this time... Might be 4 weeks before I get the Index hmd back... But yeah, then I'm stuck with the Oculus version ... might have to sleep on that, lol.

This was my review of Into the Radius using the Index res 150% and GTX 1080 (no DLSS support) - admitted I was quite annoyed of devs not supporting native Oculus drivers and forcing me to choose between shops...

If the new DLSS support can remove all jaggies, might be a game changer to me - also combined with the brute force of the 3090. Then again, the gameplay might be boring... Never was fond of gray depressive graphics. 2c.

It's supposed to be depressive intentionally. It's inspired by S.T.A.L.K.E.R. which took place in the chernobyl disaster site. Into the Radius is basically in an anomaly zone with strange and weird stuff going on.

I tried Into the Radius and I mostly liked what I played but there was a lot bugs and jank. Leaving base and my pistol disappear and such. The devs are very active though so I've had it back burnered for awhile waiting for patches. Most people seem to like it so I will definitely be jumping into it at some point, probably after I get the Vive.

Ok, I'll give it a try too 🙂 Only because it has DLSS 😇

When I met my wife in 2006, I got the Russian STALKER movie with English subs and we saw it together - to this day she still considers it the worst, most boring and most horrible movie she ever saw 😂

I did enjoy the STALKER pancake game from 2007 a lot - but so far Into the Radius didn't feel that similar, unfortunately. As said, I'm willing to give the game another try with CV1 ss 2.0 + RTX 3090 + DLSS, if that doesn't help... 🤞

Yea, it seems to be a very small team behind it. You can tell it's a passion project which is why I didn't refund. The game just released in like july of last year and it's already had 35 patches and updates....35 lol. 6 of those in this month alone and it's not even over yet. So yea, very active devs who care about the game being good. I'm letting them work their magic and letting the dust settle and then I will go through it.

This is their roadmap through June. They're transforming most of the game.

They talk in detail there but you can see roadmap on right side.

Also one of the devs said this 6 hours ago -

Great to hear that you enjoy the game! We want to greatly improve the base game before we even think about dlcs at this point, so lots more free updates are coming anyway )

Most games get burned for releasing in such rough state, but I think the fans understand the potential here. I'm sold on the vision myself but need a lot of the annoyances removed before I go through. (And they may be by now IDK)

Guys, can you create threads that relate to the subject you want to talk about please.

People may not venture into this thread if they're not interested in an Index headset, but they may be interested in some of the things you're now talking about.

I understand this thread has become a forum within a forum for non-Oculus interests but this is an Oculus forum after all. If you go to other non-manufacture affiliated VR forums you'll find Oculus subjects aren't suppressed in the way they're starting to be here. It's becoming a little unfair to Oculus users if that's what's happening. Not just that but we're not getting Quest question being asked in here as they probably see this as a good please to get views! that's not a good thing.

Thanks.

I'll take this into consideration - recently I did make several threads, but often with very limited responses (kinda feels like I'm writing to myself) - and I'm thinking the boardies who might care for these games don't read other threads. I've recently made threads for these games:

I mostly only go into threads I've already been to from notifications because I hate the layout for the topics. It's too large/mobile like. Shame it's downgraded so much that just chatting is considered suppression to other topics now.

Sometimes it feels like we're just 3-5 dudes back here - but seeing the thread views jumping from 30k to 35k, maybe there are more visitors in here than one might assume, lol. Maybe fueled by Google too 🤔

The new forum layout shoulders a lot of the blame for the loss of traffic to the rest of these forums because it is a disaster to navigate, so i can't blame any end users when they just end up in general and be done with it, not when the likes of oculus reddits offer a way cleaner and easier to navigate oculus forums....and yes it does feel like there are about 10 users on this entire site all the time these days, again no doubt because of the horrible layout of the forums now as the layout is just not conducive to making users want to use the forums like they did with the old forums layout, hell it feels like this new layout has actully chased away a lot of posters from the site, and that is not something any forum should allow to happen, not if they want that forum to continue.
