Many are speculating that we will be getting an announcement regarding the "Quest 3" or "Quest Pro" during the October Facebook Connect. But there are already strong speculation of what is needed from the next iteration from the Standalone (MobileVR) platform.

Some of the areas of development needed include:

- Enhanced VR Streaming
- Eye Tracking

- Foveated Rendering
- Improved Field of View
- Improved OLED Display
- Enhanced Audio
- Enhanced Tactile Feedback (headset and controllers)
- Better weight Relief
- Better cooling
- Return to Black Design

These are the basic overviews, but what would you want to see from the successor to the Quest2

Let's just start with a DisplayPort and take it from there 🙂

(I'd like a light-weight version with no battery and no mobile processor too, but I doubt that's gonna happen, lol.)

Just trying to encourage you to join the movement kevin... consumer VR is great and a lot of fun it really is.

It also helps when making a determination of what you want as part of a new headset.. .whether from Oculus or from Valve etc... don't you think?

I've just finished a long session in Flight Simulator so my preference for  Quest 3 is a 5 to 10 deg increase in FOV, no more otherwise it risks compromising performance too much. Continued development of Air Link.

And my personal choice would be a Halo strap that easily detaches/swaps out for the canvas strap, so it can be used relaxing on the sofa/bed for media viewing as per the current Quest but with the comfort of the Rift-S for long sessions in out-ansd-out VR fun (not sure how easy the after-market Halos swap out.

You have been asked by the community moderator to use our account names please do that - Thank you @DaftnDirect

I think your Emoji was a hope to try and mask the comment as a joke - did not really find that funny IMHO.

If you are serious, and not starting this discussion up for a double team of criticism - I will try and answer your point in the new spin placed on it.

What I would like to see on the new Oculus headset was listed above in most part - the weight relief and the addressing of the elite strap situation would be high up. The performance and OLED would also be issues linked to eyetracking and a wider FOV.

I noticed by surprise how much of what I was listing in the original post are elements rumored to be on the PSVR2 - so it would be kind of a duplication of what others are looking to implement. Will be interesting if there are specific elements that other posts feel is needed?

Nah, we agreed with the community moderator that its best to go with my avatar name complete - especially as we had had to deal with an issue with another poster. Just a simple request I ask you to follow. Thanks

Edited - We also use the full name so we can track posts directed at us in notifications - its just a nicer thing to do.

so if I use @kevinw729 will that encourage to join the movement? 🙂

sorry, another emoji there

oh, plus I guess a longer battery life if possible, plugged in is fine but I probably will want to do some long sessions increasingly untethered.
