Over on Facebook, Zuckerberg posted news about the introduction of "Shops" on WhatsApp and Marketplace. This is the first step in bringing a full fledged e-commerce "digital world" to life. And the next target will be AR/VR.

The implications here are quite huge. Being able to put on your Oculus HMD and travel to different storefronts from any business owner around the world and interact with their goods before purchasing them is quite astonishing when we consider the advantages of engaging in this activity within Virtual Reality as opposed to a flat-screen App or Website.
