The problem with that is that most people don't want to have relations with a texture. They would have to use 3d scans as displayed in a previous thread.

I disagree. While real life porn would certainly be cool in VR their are hordes of people already who go for the CG stuff just for a taste of something different. I think the implications for both are enormous; my Wife and I look forwards to both of them! 🙂

Sinful Robot is gone, but the main guy(s?) behind it went on to make Wicked Paradise:

Not too much news on it though, a screenshot or two.

Im going to say the same thing about VR porn as I said about 3Dtv porn...

While it may seem like there's a lot of upsides to this, people are quick to forget the downside's of things coming out of the screen...

...do you *REALLY* want that thing poking you in the eye?

Even when High Defintion came rolling around... suddenly it went from soft, blurry texture to grainy, bumpy imperfections. What looked like a beauty mark suddenly clarifies itself as a ingrown hair (or worse).

no thanks, and be careful for what you wish for

I don't mind hd 3d porn, just have to find the high quality ones with the pornstars who are actually worth being paid (physically). I never notice such 'imperfections'...

Agreed. I have a 47" Passive 3d Toshiba and hd 3d porn is awesome when it's done right. It is difficult however to find videos where the quality is good that suit my tastes.
Hustler has a good collection with pretty good 3d but I can't stand all that fake pornstar baloney. Give me amateur any day.

I really do think VR porn will be amazing knowing the positive effects well-done stereoscopy can have on it.
Some of that 3d scanned model stuff looks pretty amazing.

Have any of you ever seen 'The Great Porn Experiment' on TED? http://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_263672&src_vid=zif0_60b3WU&feature=iv&v=wSF82A...
I am really curious as to how more (or less? Doubtful but who knows?) pronounced the effects they are talking about here will be with the implementation of this level of immersion.

Lookout r/NoFap/‎! Your about to have a spillover from r/Oculus/!

Most of the 3D porn I looked at that was designed for 3D TVs seemed to treat the scene like a diorama. I guess they have trouble with traditional (porn) camera work really working well for 3D. I actually kind of wish 3D movies would tone down all the "cinematography" for 3D, or at least adapt more, but I understand there is a tension between making a good 3D movie and a good 2D movie. (One thing I really liked about The Matrix was that it was so easy to follow the action, unlike so many other movies, even in 2D).

As for the question of if you want certain things to be poking your eyes out, or whatever, I think it is a little presumptuous to assume what kind of sexual imagery people might enjoy 🙂

As for making love to a texture, it is always going to be a texture (queue the "life like texture" meme). We are talking about fake sex so it seems kind of pointless to complain that it isn't real. It is all a fantasy. And again, it is presumptuous to assume that people will want anything in particular once people become uninhibited.

People will certainly enjoy things that are considered repugnant and there will even almost certainly be a moral panic and a cry to make such things illegal.

I'm actually working on an essay that goes into this issue which asks the question "Should what happens in VR stay in VR?" When asked "Would you rape a woman if there were no consequences" (sorry that is a paraphrase), about 60% of men say yes. A lot of people are shocked by this, but I think of it as asking about a person's fantasy, and I don't think you can judge people based on their fantasies. But people will start to judge if they catch people in such fantasies playing out in VR! I think it will take a while for this kind of thing to work through society. (See the Hollow Pursuits episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation for an earlier exploration of this controversy/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hollow_Pursuits).

As for the imperfections of real human bodies. I'm actually turned off by highly physically "perfect" porn stars. They seem so artificial to me and the sex is just as hollow and unsatisfying. I like real people and less over produced amateur style things. Sounds kind of paradoxical. I like fantastic things, but not when you are trying to pull it off with real people. If it has to be real, give me normal imperfect people.

Whether or not Priya is a transgender individual or not, it is polite to refer to them using their preferred personal pronoun. Not doing so implies that you somehow know better than they do what gender they are.

I say this even though I'm pretty sure you are just trolling.
