usbc adapter question

Since I don't have a usbc port on my computer I have to use an adapter. It always says headset active but not always detect the headset. Oculus says to use a usbc port. Anyone think the adapter is the issue and you really need the  c port built in?

are you using a "link" cable or the charging cable included in the box?

The cable included in the box is only a charging cable.

if you don't have a usb c connection on your computer you can use this cable
