V62 Release Notes

Zbornox
Retired Support

Force Hold Code Block: This new code block enables you to force an object to be held in a user's hand, the inverse of the Force Release code block. This is useful for situations where you want users to already be holding an object (eg. holding a weapon at the start of a PvP game) or when you don't want a user to be able to drop an important object.

Exposing Object Physics Properties: We've added the ability to edit an object's individual physics properties: Mass, Drag, Angular Drag, Friction and Bounciness. Until now you've only been able to choose from a list of preset Physics Materials which combined specific values for each of these properties. Now when you edit one of these values directly the Physics Material will change to 'Custom' and you'll be able to fine tune the properties to suit your use case. Changing the material dropdown back to a preset material will revert the values.

Object spawning: We’ve added the ability to spawn simple objects into your world from your personal asset library through scripting. This makes it possible to dynamically swap out content like items, scenery, and more. Now visitors can experience even more without going over world capacity limits - for example, offering visitors a choice from a dozen cosmetic attachables, but only spawning in the selected object, vs. storing all of them in the world. Check out this overview for details on how to use this new capability.

This feature is still early and we’re working hard to extend support to more features, gizmos, and complex objects. We’d love to hear your feedback and can’t wait to see what you build!
