Hi All! Per https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Ideas/Disable-Boundary-in-Quest-3/idi-p/1175279, at the moment the guardian system limits user behaviors and there is no way to turn it off. I think it's thus more appropriate to name it "Helicopter Parent" instead, this have the following benefits: Clear Communication: Renaming the system to "Helicopter Parent" instantly communicates its purpose of safeguarding users within the virtual environment. Users will understand its role in guiding, protecting, restricting, and limiting their interactions. Expectation Management: The term "Helicopter Parent" inherently implies a level of oversight and restriction, managing user expectations effectively. Users will anticipate limitations, reducing frustration when encountering boundaries within the VR experience. User Acceptance: By explicitly labeling the system as a "Helicopter Parent," users are more likely to accept its constraints as necessary for their safety and overall experience. This can mitigate feelings of anger or resentment when behaviors are restricted. Fostering Trust: Clarity in naming fosters trust between users and the system. Users appreciate transparency and are more likely to trust a system that openly communicates its intentions. Consistency with Cultural Understanding: "Helicopter Parent" is a widely recognized term in contemporary culture, aligning with users' existing understanding of overprotective supervision. This familiarity enhances user comprehension and acceptance of the system's role. In general, renaming the "Guardian System" to "Helicopter Parent" not only clarifies its purpose but also enhances user experience by managing expectations and fostering trust. This small adjustment can significantly improve the overall perception and acceptance of the system within the Meta Quest 3 community. Best regards, Allan Windmill

Please give us the ability to have video calls the same as Mark Zuckerberg did when he showed off codec avatars in 2023.
This would of course only be possible on the Quest Pro right now but hopefully in new Quests going forward from 2025 - Quest Pro 2, Quest 4, if they have eye and face tracking.

I love the room mapping and furniture settings on quest 3, i only wish there was a way to increase the distance where they get visible while in full vr. Right now it's way too close of a detection. Maybe a customization menu like the one for the play area borders that detect both helmet and joypads, allowing to set what distance they become visible would be very nice.

I contacted Meta support about a problem with the trigger button sensor not working properly when using the Quest3 controller. (I have my finger on it, but the sensor frequently recognizes that my finger is off) They shared with me how to reset the controller, but even when I followed the instructions, the actual behavior differed from what was described. They said like this: <How to reset the Quest 3 controller to factory settings 1. On the right controller, hold down the A button and tap the Home (meta logo) button 5 times. ※For the left button, use the X button and the menu button. 2. The LED will flash orange/white while the reset to factory defaults is being performed. 3. The LED will turn light blue during startup. 4. Once the startup is complete, the controller can be used again as normal. However, the lamp never glowed orange or blue when operated as described, but only glowed the same way as if another button had been pressed. I repeatedly asked them if the operating procedures were correct, only to have them insist that they were. I also asked them to show me a video of the actual operation, but they refused to do so. Do you all follow the above procedure and does the relevant function work properly? I don't know if this is only a problem with the JP version or not, but no matter how many times I try, the lamp never glows a different color than usual.

I just can’t understand why the meta quest app doesn’t support landscape orientation. Every time I open the app on my iPad after I’ve been using every other app in landscape I have to turn my iPad around and change my chosen comfortable position. It’s so frustrating. I literally hate it. It’s been so many years now and it hasn’t been fixed. Like please fix this. It makes absolutely no sense.

I strongly suggest a hand gesture feature to temporarily pause hand input when using hand tracking. It becomes very frustrating when I accidentally interact with a virtual screen or something I didn’t intent to because I was interacting with irl objects. It’s way too easy to have this happen. The app Immersed has solved this already by adding a gesture that does just that. I love Immersed for that but this should be a system wide meta feature for hand tracking. Thanks

I think it’d be cool if I could go into a venue like a bar or an entertainment club of some sort in meta horizon worlds and play guitar live (my own music) I tried routing my audio using vb audio but it doesn’t seem to be working anymore. Maybe…. Have some kind of audio driver recognition for audio interfaces because I can plug my interface into the headset however the headset doesn’t do anything other than power it up as far as I know. Then route that signal to meta horizon worlds.

Hi Meta, the Quest room setup does not currently support pitched roofs. In my case, one wall in the room is not straight but slanted to the floor. Especially with mixed reality setup, the room setup automatically becomes a cube. This causes problems in conjunction with a sloping roof, as objects cannot be tracked onto the wall but appear behind it or fliying in the air. I need to be able to set additional fixed points on the vertical edge of a corner to be able to model sloping roofs. Implementing this option would be particularly good for mixed reality applications. Thank you very much if someone takes my idea on board and checks its feasibility.

Currently, users cannot launch the home screen with only one controller paired, and there is no alternative option to configure hand tracking if no controllers are paired during the initial setup of Meta Quest 2 and Quest 3. Challenges: This setup requirement creates issues for users in the following scenarios: 1. Single Functional Controller: Users who have only one functional controller face difficulties proceeding to the home screen. 2. Preference for Hand Tracking: Some users prefer hand tracking for navigation, but there is no straightforward way to configure it during the initial setup. 3. App Installation Hurdle: While stuck in the paired controller step, users cannot install apps via the Meta Quest app. Proposed Improvements: To enhance accessibility and accommodate a wider range of user needs, consider the following enhancements: 1. Hand Tracking Setup Alongside Controller Pairing: - During the first-time setup process, introduce both hand tracking configuration and controller pairing options. - Allow users to choose their preferred method (controllers or hand tracking) right from the beginning. 2. Skip Controller Pairing: - If no controllers are available, provide an option to skip controller pairing altogether. - Direct users to set up hand tracking instead. 3. Single Controller Scenario: - If only one controller is connected, enable skipping the pairing step. - Offer an option to configure hand tracking as an alternative. 4. Maintain Current Method for Dual Controllers: - For users with both controllers paired, continue with the existing setup process. Benefits: - Increased Accessibility: Users with varying needs can easily proceed with setup. - Enhanced User Experience: A smoother initial setup process. - Flexibility: Accommodates those who prefer hand tracking or have limited controller availability.

Hi! Working with the quest 3 it is really difficult to use qwerty keyboard as I am a French data scientist with an Azerty keyboard. The subject is well known by the community but could you add the azerty configuration of the keyboard cause it is actually a nightmare,,, Thanks!!!

Meta headsets are programmed with Android core but do not support keyboard layouts except US. Other Android-based devices such as phones and tablets include most worldwide keyboard layouts. The fact that this isn't possible on Meta headsets doesn't make sense. This need has been mentioned many times for several years. You should be careful because many users who want to use their headsets seriously for productivity applications might turn to Apple. You have the keys so that users who really want to use the headset productively don't turn away from Meta. You certainly know that headsets are not only used for gaming but it will soon be a new way of working. I love VR and AR with Meta. Best regards. Inari-FoX.

I've seen a lot of stuff about using augments in the "home" environment but what about in a game environment? So could I have YouTube shorts going while playing BAM? Or have a text message app locked in place while mini golfing? Or displaying something like NZXT cam app or task manager when using in PCVR mode? The PCVR one, for me, opens up so much potential.

Allow the Meta Quest to be used a display for the Samsung Dex mode or video out Google Display mode when converted into desktop view. This is already achieved in Virtual Desktop and Air Link from computers using PC VR streaming protocols. So it should be possible from Android devices which Meta Quest is also built on. This can be achieved by enabling the HMD to be visible as a Chromecast compatible display target on the local Wi-Fi and it would appear in the users view as a flat 2D screen but at a larger scale to the users preference. In other words the Meta quest would be able to cast to other displays and it could be a Chromecast compatible display itself.

Hey, idc if i have to write the reason for my idea so i do it anyways, I had that problem that my "peoples" app sayed that i have to make an meta acc even tho i had one and also was conected to it since its my admin acc. After trying for like 5 days i finaly found the solution. Solution: I disconected my acc from every device exept my vr-headset and reconected it to my phone again to force my headset to reset + reconect to the acc since it has to sync to the "new" device, after that it worked all fine. Idea: Pls ad an button in the options app in the headset that makes this resyncing to the acc easy so it can resync without having to roconect other devices via internet site. Thank you

For a while, a previous update to the Quest allowed us to use more than one 2D app while inside a 3D experience. For example, I use Remote Display and a second app simultaneously while working in VRChat. However, we suddenly do not have this anymore. It worked perfectly fine when it was added. I hope this is just a bug that can be fixed and not an intentional reverse of that feature.

It's really annoying to have the controllers popping up on the screen while you're in the middle of watching a video. It would be nice to be able to completely disable controllers and hand tracking. Of course, one problem would be once you do this and you no longer have your controllers how do you reenable them? One solution might be that when the controllers and hand tracking are completely disabled, a quick push on the power button would reenable them.

Hi Meta Team, I am an entry-level UI/UX designer and searching for an opportunity. I was trying to apply for your company to get a chance to work with you and so I request you to change the usage of color differences for the texts in the header of your company's career page. In some job vacancy details pages, the header text has a white hue which is suitable for the header background hue. But in some job vacancy details pages the header text has a black shade which is not highlighted, and not able to see the "apply to job" button clearly, otherwise the pages have a clear view. If that is changed it would be very useful for us as a user. Kindly consider my request. I enclosed the snaps for your reference. Thanks & Regards, Krithika Jagadeesh.

Add a haptic feedback Bluetooth device for the Meta Quest. Add support for haptic feedback using a set of thimble like devices (like those seen in sewing) or rings that would be used on the fingers we most often use for typing and interacting in virtual 3d space. This does not have to be like haptic gloves but smaller ones that can be placed on the fingers used for typing.
