It is not consistent and purelly random. Some times works properly:
home button -> right pannel -> popup with screenshot function
Other times it acts like teasing me with no reason, and disapears before can click the screenshot button.
Also is annoying the 5 seconds time out. Should acts like in Quest, autoquit the HUD.
I keep looking for the "bug". I may need to point the left hand laser towards my back so it doesn't happen.

We desperately need a "Guardian" off toggle to permanently disable 6DOF and use gyro only 3DOF, identical to the function already available in the Quest 2.
We are using many Rift-S sets in a Mars Rover experience, but the experience is ruined as the dark environent triggers an error message.
The users are sitting in a chair using a joystick, and for most use-cases like this (stationary) the camera tracking function with 6DOF is not needed at all.

We have several clients using the Rift-S in exhibitions. They are getting constant "Define play area" even if it's set up as static.
On my Q2 I can in developer option disable this so when cameras are 'lost' it uses the gyro, losing the 6-DoF tracking but still keeping the head rotation. As soon as cameras are seeing again, full tracking is enabled WITHOUT any notifications or need to re-calibrate.
We really need a fix for the Rift-S to replicate this as our client is struggeling using the hardware as-is.
For many uses the Rift-S is used completely stationary, so any guardian/play area is not needed at all.

Our team does every standup and creative collab session in Oculus now. Letâs push for a feature request to add the âswipeâ keyboard function similar to mobile phones. Itâs insanely complicated to type with VR controllers. Always gets it wrong. I find myself naturally trying to type by dragging from one key to the next, in hopes that Oculus has integrated this quick typing feature. This would both drastically reduce mistakes and speed up typing in a way thatâs actually productive.

Not everyone uses controllers. A loit of people use the Rift in seated mode with a HOTAS, for example. Please get rid of the "Controller not found" overlay error message that will come up if the controllers batteries are flat/have had the batteries removed.

I would like to be able to add persistant options to the dash bar which would launch an application as a panel.
Kind of like the way panels already works, but instead of having to choose an application which is already open, I could configure a path to an executable/shortcut.
Also unlike existing panels (which disapear from the bar once they are closed / headset is shut down), these should be persistant shortcuts which I could access with one click
So in summary, we should be able to add a program shortcut to the bar, which persists after restart, and would launch the program if it wasn't already running, and place it as a panel
I have a quest 2 with link, but I believe this feature would fall under Rift S and Rift

Please, please , please! Add audio controls for the music from the Dashboard! I cannot be on the desktop and listen to this music while watching a video from the desktop feed. Either I couldn't find it, which is bad, or its not there, which is ver very bad.
And from the Home, I can turn off the music but the ambiant sound his still there, so I turn off sfx but now I loose the interactions sound, these are not the same! Who is in charge of the audio over at Oculus!

Make a DisplayPort to HDMI or USB C adapter as many third party ones dont work and may people have "VR Ready" gaming laptops but dont have display ports/MiniDP which dont allow them to use their Rift S. dont know why the company havnt made a fix for this issue over the years, but now with new technological advancements many laptops are able to witstand large amounts of power (core i7 and up and even RTX 2080+ but cant use the rift S simply because of ONE CABLE, and many laptop comanys making the switch over to USB C outputs

Real name appears in various menus (most notably on the dash) which is problematic for various reasons, especially for those who wish to stream on public platforms (Twitch, etc.). There's no need to see your own name (you presumably already know it), but with the tightest privacy settings being 'Only You' this doesn't help if you want to broadcast what 'only you' can see.

Add the ability to use a keyboard hot-key instead of the Oculus button on the handcontrollers for accessing Dash and Passthrough. Also make it possible to move the pointer and click on buttons inside Dash with the mouse so we dont need to use the handcontrollers. If you dont add the mouse support it would be enough with the Oculus button and a couple of the other buttons on the controller so Dash could be used with those keyboard shortcuts togeather with moving the pointer dot with the head.
Make note of the following:
There is no flightsimmer with a Rift S that wants to use the handcontrollers, they are just a major annoyance. Probably no racingsimmer want them either.
No one wants the handcontrollers in their cockpit build I can assure you.
Thankfully its possible to use the X button on a Xbox controller as the Oculus button. But since it must be a very simple thing for you make it possible to use the keyboard and mouse for these things and you can not possibly have missed out on this feedback before I can only interpret that as that you have taken an active stand against doing so. It is a statement that you do not wish to have simmers as customers, we are not your desired target group, your products are intended only for Beat Sabre and similar other games. Although I think the headsets optics, tracking, price and everything is very good I can not see myself upgrading to another Oculus headset in the future because Im simply not wanted as a customer. The fact that I had to build a buttonbox for my cockpit out of the circuit board from a old Xbox controller that I had to buy on Ebay to avoid using the handcontrollers for these functions is just to insulting so it does not make up for the product otherwize beeing very good. My wired buttonbox requires no batterys like your handcontrollers either so I dont have to worry about that.
You will not be able to make me switch from flightsims to Beat Sabre even in you remove the ability to use a Xbox contoller for the Oculus button which I assume is just a matter of time. I will switch brand of headset before that.

How about implementing a Feature in the Options Menu to let's say "keep pressed the Oculus Home Button for at least 2 Seconds to activate the Menu"?
Same maybe for the left button (since this opens up Steam VR Settings).
I think this shouldn't be a big thing to implement and I guess I'm not the only person on earth with this "problem".

I've recently run into a problem with my controllers where one of my grip buttons has physically malfunctioned so that it is slightly pressed in, about 15-20% of it's range. This causes problems with some games due to the fact that the entire range is needed for interactions, and it's causing the grip release to be lagged. I believe this problem, and others like it, could be fixed with a menu where you can calibrate and adjust deadzones on the sensitive parts of the controller, as full movement and precision is needed for nearly any action in vr controls.
SteamVR has a good example of a menu where you can view the controller's current calibrations and control states, and could be a great menu to build off of. This is how I figured out that my controller is pressed in to 15-20%, but it doesn't offer a deadzone config.
If this problem progresses on my controller without a fix, it will render the controller unusable, so this fix would help extend its life at least a while longer.

Like the gamepad support lastly added (wishing more controls over the activation options for that though), a mouse support following the aim mechanism of the head-aiming with gamepad, but with the difference of the origin point of the line :
taking the head position variables at the recenter/reset moment, and discarding the head's inclinations, the mouse moves the target point of the line on a the sphere surface with the center of origin matching the head's one . The trick would be disabling the mouse aiming as the line targets the dash's desktop screenspace when activated. (colision detection possibly avoided with boundaries for less costs in ressources? but really helpfull for the user, therefore with an option to activate it or not, like the one we'd wish for the gamepad support :-p)
Simple and efficient.
Hope I'll be read. Thx for your attention.
Having read the rights of the account holder, if my idea is retained, maybe should I have some kind of rewards ?
:-p

Okay so i'd like the option to add more stuff to the guardian. Like overlapping areas and such. I play VR in 2 area at my computer and in an open space in my room. One for sitting and one for standing. But i'd love to mark things in 3D for eaxmple my bed i would love to mark the height of the bed in the guardian so i know that reaching over through the guardian is fine but i just can't walk there. And i have a small filling cabinet which would make the area alot bigger if i could mark the height of that aswell since it takes up a fair bit of space in the corner but it's only short so reaching over it is fine. I have alot of areas like that where i can reach some areas but not others. Finally i have a shelf which it would be nice to be able to not get the warning when reaching below the shelf. A danger guardian would be good aswell which would be for specific areas that are fragile or dangerous to be colliding with: I have a fan and printer near my guardian area and i'd love to mark them seperatly so i know i cannot go near that area and break my printer, or on wardrobe there is a mirror and i'd rather not put my hand through it. So would be nice to have an extended range secondary guardian sort of thing also for my PC when i'm using VR near there. I understand alot of games wouldn't be able to use this guardian data but i don't need them too all i need is for it to show in the headset so i know what's around me.

Exactly what it says on the title.
I find it bizarre that I can open up and desktop view and interact with my PC screen from inside the headset, but when I try to click and run one of my VR games/apps from the Oculus desktop app as viewed in desktop mode on the headset, it doesn't work (just loads it in a floating 2D screen instead).
Clearly, if I'm wearing the VR headset, looking at my desktop in there, and I click one of the VR games/apps in the Oculus desktop app, I actually want to play it properly VR, and I should be able to.
It's crazy I'm even having to ask for this imo.
