It would be nice to be able to toggle Passthrough on-demand like you can with the Rift S to be able to quickly see the world around you without having to pull the headset off of your face.

Nintendo, Microsoft, Roblox, Google Play, and many other platforms provide supervised purchases for U13 accounts (both games and in-app purchases). Please just copy what every other platform does here.

Hi there Metaquest. Please can you find a way to allow casting from a childs account? We have bought the Metaquest 3 specifically for my 10 year old child, so he is the primary user, in fact the only user. I’ve set him up with a childs account so that he remains safe and can only access content appropriate to his age. But we can’t see what he is playing, which in my opinion is a safety concern as we can’t identify whether the content is appropriate for him. It’s also not helpful as he asks us questions about what he is playing and we can’t help or give him suggestions. Please, please, please can you find a way to allow casting from a childs account? Many thanks 😊

Currently you can't use Quest in the dark at all. Technically 3DOF tracking should work (just like the Go), so people can watch videos even in a dark environment. Just add a notification like "Tracking error. Would you like to use Quest in 3DOF mode?"

I purchased two Quest 3 headsets for my kids, 10 and 13, for Christmas. I have set myself up as the admin account on each headset. I have purchased a few games for them to play, but quickly found out that I cannot share the apps between the two headsets. In order for my kids to each play the game I would have to purchase each app twice. This is like making me buy two copies of a movie so that both kids could watch it, God forbid my wife and I would want to watch it, that would mean we buy the movie four times my suggestion is that you find a way to share apps across headsets within the same household, especially since you can create child accounts under a parent. Seems that would be a pretty easy task for some really smart people at Meta.

Meta needs to quickly take action to fix the glaring problem with their so called parental supervision. Every single kid in the world will figure out they can just switch accounts in the headset to get more time, use it during their breaks that the parent set up, access content their parent has blocked. Why didn’t Meta realize that a PIN or password would need to be required to switch accounts to make sure parental supervision actually was something that existed. As it stands now, there is no parental supervision available no matter how many limits the parent puts in place. The only way to put an actual limit in place is to physically lock the headset up. My goodness, do you not have any parents or former children on your development team?

A thread at https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Get-Help/Quest-3-lose-roomscale-settings-when-i-switch-to-stationary/td-p/1092020 talks about an issue on the Quest 3 where it seems impossible to have more than a single guardian in the same room thus preventing from easily switching from roomscale to stationary and vice versa. I believe this happens because the existing guardian in the room is immediately and irrevocably replaced by the new automated boundary creator of the Quest 3 when we leave the boundary. When we leave our current boundary, we have either "Create a new boundary" or "Go to passthrough". If we select "Create a new boundary", the automatic boundary creator kicks in and deletes everything in the room including the roomscale/stationary boundary we were using. By doing so, it's impossible to go back to it. Even if we then select "I'll do it manually", it's too late. Perhaps the solution should be to ask precisely what we want to do when we leave the boundary: Manually create a new roomscale boundary Manually create a new stationary boundary Create a new boundary automatically Go to passthough If we select "Manually create a new x boundary", it won't delete existing boundaries (like on the Quest 2) allowing us to add boundaries to the existing room and, eventually, allow us to switch from one to the other. Can it be that easy?

I shouldnt have to see a Rift in my account that I no longer have. Please add a way to delete older devices. Shouldn't have to have old devices in my account to keep my old games from the oculus desktop app. Figure this out, very frustrating and seems to be a common issue amongst older supporters of oculus/meta

Let us cast games like beat saber. Party mode is pointless casting a blank screen. I can understand restricting livestreams, but local casting?

There should be a pin or password enabled when a supervised profile attempts to switch to primary/parental profile on the headset. Presently, they can simply switch accounts and access the non-supervised profile, which is pretty pointless.

...how about letting people cut out #Passthrough “windows” to get in the realworld in the Meta Quest home environment? ( furniture might not be bad too) #MixedReality #environments #MetaQuest3

Right now, if you record you Quest and the guardian get's visible, it will also show in the recording/streaming, which looks very bad. This wasn't happening before. I can understand they included this to show off the Q3 MR capablities, but when you just want to record VR this breaks the inmersion and looks very bad. So PLEASE: Add an option to disable visibility of the guardian on the recording(And maybe even to disable MR too if possible).

The Couch and Desk under Guardian -> Mixed Reality was removed in V53. It's a shame. Now you can setup all kinds of furniture in Room Setup, but they are useless. They do not show up in your home environment, and you cannot interact with them. I know they are intended for mixed reality. But there isn't any mixed reality app right now besides Figmin XR. And Quest 2 is not a mixed reality device! I want to bring my couch and desk into virtual reality. Bringing real objects into VR is one of the coolest ideas you've had. Why are you getting rid of it?

It makes no sense that a kids 10-12 account can talk to random strangers with no filters whatsoever, but they can't have friends (even real life friends, even their parents as friends!) This just results in kids creating or using parental accounts. This is not ideal and goes against the purpose of the child account. Every other gaming platform allows friends, this makes no sense whatsoever.

For people new to the quest, you may or may not have noticed this incredibly annoying issue yet. Upon release of the oculus go headset, there was an issue whereby any power received by the headset while it was in a full shutdown state would automatically turn the headset back on again. This caused issues where the headset was left on charge then packed away without thought, only to find it was out of battery next time it was used. This was later fixed by an update for the oculus go, the same issue is unfortunately present on the quest However, on quest if you were to shutdown, cover lenses then put on charge, you'll find that not only is the headset turned itself on again but the screen has been on all that time unattended, headset hot and if volume is loud enough, making noise where it's in the confirm guardian state. There is no way to charge while shutdown at the moment, meaning if you were unlucky enough to have the lens cover off and charging while shutdown and not notice that it has booted itself up again by physically looking in the lenses, you'll actually find that next time you use it, it won't be 100% battery or worse still, completely drained. We need people to shout about this so they can push a fix asap, it's been done for the oculus go but needed people to shout about it, let's make it happen for the oculus quest! Pulling your headset out to demo to friends only to find its got very little battery life left (despite being on charge for hours before) isn't fun!

We should have a method of receiving messages into the headset. I think this could be done using the Oculus app itself. Let users send each other messages. I could create an oculus account for my wife, and she could send me an oculus message directly into the headset while I’m immersed in the virtual world...in case i need to help with the real world. And of course i should be able to turn this off if i want.

It would be good if you could cast to the mobile app from a childs profile other than just the primary profile as children often need assistance and monitoring while using the headset. At the moment my son has to keep taking the headset on and off so I can help and see what he is doing which isn’t ideal.

Controllers currently offered in this Meta Quest Pro have a significant number of power cut-off issues due to forced sleep or excessive heat. In particular, the left controller is causing excessive problems, and users unconsciously use the right side more than the left side. The game also uses the right side a lot, and the face is also slightly tilted to the right side. As a result, if the left frequency is relatively low or if it is not visible beyond the camera's recognition range, it seems to be mistaken for a power saving mode. Otherwise, controller camera tracking itself has a fatal flaw.
