Cross Continent Multiplayer with 3 Quest 2 Devices - Is this possible?

Hello! The company I work for has three offices spread across the world. I was talking with my boss about cross continent planned team bonding ideas and he expressed that he would like to be able to play VR games with staff members at the same time:

  • 3 players with 3 head sets playing the same game together

  • Stream the game to a display so everyone in each office can watch (I believe this is done via Google Casting)

  • Use Oculus Quest 2

My question is: Is this possible with the Quest 2? I have been doing reading for the last hour but can't seem to get a straight answer for 3 users playing the same game at the same time with each player using their own headset. It seems like there needs to be 1 main account that grants permissions to the second accounts?

Can anyone explain or clarify this for me?

Thank you!

Probably not for consumer model, but for the business version of oculus.

Only one unit can be set for sharing device.  So what your asking seems to want to try skirting costs and realistically i won't work.

below is most likely a legal method to do what your asking

Thank you for the response! I was not actually aware that there is a business version so I will absolutely take a look at that as that seems to be the solution I am looking for! Thank you!

Which games are you going to play?

If you play free games or do not mind buying 3 copy of games it's ok to work in any part of world.

"Sharing" is a different thing. You need not it to play same game. It's for "not pay for game second time".

So you need 3 personal accounts and make friends between them. Then you could make a "private match" and invite "friends" there.

Also fb expects that 1 account is used with 1 person. So all actions people doing there are bound to that acc. Also if you buy a game it is own by acc, not by device or your company.

You could try free "VR chat" first. Or a free game like Echo VR.

In "vr chat" you could join from any computer, not only Vr. So it is "streaming" of a sort.

In Echo VR you could have a computer without VR to join same game as a "spectator". Talk to people on discord for help.

So long as it's a multiplayer game, it should be. I did a boxing match in Creed a few days ago, and afterwords I got to talking with my opponent. We were in entirely different states. If you ever go into Venues, then it's virtually (heh) guaranteed that 95% of the people you see are in different cities or states.

Different countries might be an issue, but again I don't see why it should be. I mean, in one of the few Echo VR matches I played, one of my teammates mentioned being in the UK currently. I live in the USA, in the midwest.

Lo, a quest! I seek the threads of my future in the seeds of the past.
