Link not supplying power to Q2

Honored Guest

So I’ve not long got a Q2, I was very hyped on the fact I could use it standalone but also could plug it up to my pc and play higher end VR games, But my PC isn’t charging my Q2 so I am on a very narrow time crunch when playing these games. Is there anything I can do? Why is there no videos of people talking about this is it a common issue?

Air link and external battery is the best option.

Or you can get a powered usb 3.1 cable.

There are no videos because everyone's computer is different, also most don't use wired quest if they have a wifi 6 router, and battery pack.

Most headers on pc's are not sufficient for power delivery.

I use my regular Link cable coupled with a powered USB 3 extension cable. I like AirLink but I also like the Link Cable for long-time use when I am sitting (like playing Demeo for example).

This is my gear (confirmed that it works):

Alxum USB 3.0 Extension Cable 25FT, Active USB Extension Cable Male to Female with Signal Booster, Long USB Repeater/Extender Cord 7.5 Meters for Printer, Webcam, Mouse, with 5V2A Power Adapter

Syntech Link Cable 16 FT Compatible with Oculus/Meta Quest 2/1 and PC/Steam VR, High Speed PC Data Transfer, USB 3.0 to USB C Cable for VR Headset and Gaming PC

Intel i7-7700K, 32GB RAM - nVidia GTX 1070 Amp Edition 8GB GDDR5. Link Cable.

my Asus TUF Gaming B550M does not charge the Oculus too on the USB-C port.
Its simply too weak. Some manufactures seem to have problems with power output on USB-C.
Tried it on a friends 2080ti and on a MSI MAG B550 borad. Both worked w/o any problem.
Solution: i bought an USB3_A to USB-C Adaptor and with this it works on the normal USB3 port.

In a post elsewhere Support advises to avoid charging while playing games. It is not stated why we should do so, but I suspect heat issues.

Support goes on to say the Elite Strap battery pack does not charge the headset, rather the headset will run off the battery pack and switch over to the internal battery when the external pack is depleted.

this is pure nonsens.
Tell me how to play with link w/o being connected to the powersource.
I'm sure support mentioned that in view on Quest games.
