V40 and the new stabilization for video recording

RVCOM
Level 3

In V40, video recording has been improved. More stable, more fluid... But now, when you make a quick movement, black bands appear on the sides. Watch: https://youtube.com/shorts/msFasmi7FEw

Does anyone know if there is a command to disable this new stabilization? Something like "adb shell setprop debug.oculus.stabilization 0"?

The old method of stabilization was light but sufficient. Imagine guys when they go to record some Onward's gameplay, with lots of movement, it's going to be horrible to watch.

Well... According to support, there is no command for this. I hope they won't leave it like that.

..and overlay of OVR Metrics shows up on recorded video after V40, without any option to disable it, too.

why don't they add some option to disable it while adding a new features? I'm afraid of updates now. getting worse.

Youtubers and co are really happy about it... https://twitter.com/rltvirtuellecom/status/1528782859607105538

The stabilizing is actually RRREEAALLYYYY good now, compared to how it was (there was practically no stabilization pre-v40)... but the black lines that appear are... eh... they are kinda horrible. workable, I guess, but horrible. like the headset is over-predicting where you're going to look towards.

Hey, check it again.

It seems that they have reverted it.

I don't see any changes at the moment

edit: YES! It's back to normal!
