Can my PC handle Oculus Rift S?

Hi,

Perhaps a silly question but I just wanted to make sure, since I am going to invest in a video card and want to know whether or not I need to upgrade my CPU.

Oculus specs: Recommended/Minimum
Intel i5-4590 / AMD Ryzen 5 1500X or greaterIntel i3-6100 / AMD Ryzen 3 1200, FX4350 or greater

My desktop's processor:
AMD FX (tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor 3.5 GHz

I know it's not the newest nor greatest processor ever, but it will it be able to handle Oculus rift S?

Thanks a lot!

Your CPU is just above MINIMUM requirement.
A lot of of VR apps have higher requirements than recommended. I'd be going for a full upgrade personally, but if you're on a budget, you'll need to check other things like RAM and your power supply before just dropping in a new GPU.
i5 6600k - GTX1060 - 8GB RAM - Rift CV1 + 3 Sensors - 1 minor problem
Dear Oculus, If it ain't broke, don't fix it, please.

Hey Richooal,

I have 32gb RAM which is far more than the 8GB minimum. Do you think my package will be enough?
My main games will be beat saber, automobilista 2 and assetto corsa, which aren't the most demanding games I believe.

Thanks a lot

that cpu is not even capable of maintaining 60 fps in many games so I sure hope you dont spend much on a video card. it is well past time to upgrade that relic if you care about gaming at all.

I'm not a sim player, but based on system requirements on Steam, your CPU is going to be working harder than Trump's legal team.
For upgrades I say, do it once do it right.
BTW, I don't know what your "package" is (GPU?), but I'd be losing that FX 6300.

My main interest is Automobilista 2 as well. On my Rift S I can get excellent frame rates with high visual settings in AMS2. My cpu and gpu are working hard tho'
