Have Oculus And Headset Cable Broke.

I Have An Oculus Rift, (Not An S or anything special) And The Headset Cable broke, which seems like an easy fix.... until the fact that "It isn't available in my country" becomes a problem, Specific reason as to why there are no headset cables in stock for around, from what I've checked, the past 3 months?

Cables are a real issue with Oculus. 😕
They clearly made some scale economy around cable quality and is actually the main reason I'm slowly starting t shift to Vive. Their policy about cable breaks is nonexistant and having replacement is a pain in the ass no matter where you live.
My best adviceto you is either to find one online on alternative websites (according to oculus support it's available somewhere ?!) and/or to show your protest by not spending money anymore on those headsets until they start treating their customers better. (like non-proprietary cables ?!!)

Ive Heard they have bad customer support but sheesh!
Well, thats uhh, yay.
Honestly I would consider literally trading the thing in, id still get around 300 probably, its only the cord thats broken, and its even mostly usable.
Also, Thanks For Responding So Quickly!

This is a real bummer, and Oculus have left us CV1 owners out to dry. Plenty of similar posts with dissatisfied users

I think we're up to about 10 posts, not including chatter on Discord but the above 4 are the main ones to reference.

Most importantly, take a moment to vote at user voice: https://oculus.uservoice.com/forums/918556-oculus-rift-s-and-rift/suggestions/38506144?page=1&per_page=20

Not anymore, now that the cord can't be purchased, you have a paperweight.  That's going to be a hard sale.  What are you going to tell the potential customer?  Are you going to say "Just buy one from Oculus" to complete the sale, or are you going to say "You can't buy this cable anywhere anymore, without it the HMD doesn't work".

Well, for now that's the way it is so no sense complaining because it probably will not do any good.  If you start a ticket with Oculus Support they should be able to supply you a replacement if you are still under warranty, or offer you a refurbished headset with cable for ~$250.  Up to you to decide whether to buy a refurbished unit or spend extra on a newer headset.  I think many people would be better off buying a refurbished unit and then take better care of the cable.

Oculus should sort out replacement cables ASAP, no availability of a critical part that is known to fail often so soon after sales is ridiculous.

I am still interested to see what there response will be to EU or AU sales where this is counter to there laws.

How about no, complain loud and everywhere to let everyone know what facebook thinks of their customers.
