I'm an unfortunate victim of the ribbon cable inside the right side of the headband snapping, so i've lost audio and rear Leds with my rift (no warranty left).. I need to get a decent bluetooth headset that wont fall off or be uncomfortable.
Secondary to this I need one that i can pair with my main pc then when i move my headset to my other pc in the other room (at times) be able to connect (best case they are this type, or maybe two cheap pairs). (for my other, living room setup i have.. going wired is too messy and long, so bluetooth ideal, i could get away with one wired and one wireless though).
Most of what i see people using are $150+ headsets.. are there any in the sub $60 range that will work well enough (temporary hold over for a few months till I grab a new headset)? One possiblity I saw was this headset for $60 new https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F62W3TQ/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza (probably no multi connect option) Or maybe these at $69 (a bit out of the price target) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01A0EAYDI/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza I think a heavily recommended one is the steel series 7, which are unfortunately about $132 new or maybe $65 used if going the used route.
Why not drop it off to an electrical repair shop instead. The Rift's headphones are good and loud.
I agree the built in ones were fine.. i'd think an electrical shop probably couldnt fix this ribbon cut.. or if they did from flex it might just break again, so i guess for now $50 is not a bad solution vs $250 for a refurb unit or $350 new, assuming the audio quality isnt horrid.. i have a $20 bluetooth headset i tried and it was awful, like a tin can haha
