No HDMI connection on the laptop

I bought my rift earlier today and have gone through the complete setup and all the USB sensors are connected, but the headset still will not recognize the HDMI connection. The connection on the headset is firmly plugged in. Using the Oculus site, I have confirmed my graphics card meets requirements as well as running through every step with my drivers. The cord under the foam part of headset is also connected but still not working.
This problem is only on the laptop. On my PC, the headset works properly. HDMI input on the laptop is working.

If I'm not mistaken, your laptop has a video card that is below the minimum spec for the Rift. Also the HDMI connector needs to go directly to the GTX 1050 to work with the Rift. Some laptops have the HDMI connected to the Integrated GPU.

Dear Oculus, If it ain't broke, don't fix it, please.
