Oh well, I haven't used my Rift for 2-3 days, been occupied with other stuff - maybe I'll turn off the internet on my rig until this new storm has settled, sigh. I really wish users could have a choice to opt out of these way too frequent updates. Or have the choice to postpone updates - or to revert back to the previous version in case of troubles.

I greatly dislike forced updates - especially when forcing such updates on highly optimized and perfectly working rigs.

an update breaks everyone? no test before releasing it? I was  researching why I can't use my rift , wasted so much time to try to figure it out what happened. Tried to reinstall but failed to as well . What a waste the time for this product. There is no quality control and we all end up having disappointment for our entertainment.

Don't even bother researching anything mate, because whatever breaks it this time is something different from what will break it next time, or what broke it last time, there will always be something broken, it's even worse than microsoft used to be when it comes to updates

The last update finished, back to golden state with all games back in the library. A final firmware update was the last to install. Whatever the issue was, I think they got it sorted. I'm curious why a few reported the same thing I was seeing. I reverted back to the old home and older version of the desktop app during the installation.
It was good to see the old familiar home but I noticed it lost a bit of its appeal and had more SDE than I've become accustomed to with the new drivers. Was good to see the difference in an A/B comparison of the graphic performance in July compared to now.  That new "High-quality panel rendering" in the setting graphics category has sold me on the new Dash. Though I'm not the type to be much into the home stuff. I wouldn't want to go back.
Still a curious update 2 firmware updates, a brief reversion to a previous install, 15 updates to get back to where I was.
Not complaining, just wondering if they found something fundamentally broken in an earlier build that had to be repaired before installation.
People were losing their sh!t pretty quickly here for a bit then that stopped abruptly. I think there was an urgent action last minute patch from the driver team to save the day. Notice the wig flipping has pretty much ceased? I think the storm has passed.

Well it took about 8 repairs, but for some reason things are back to functional now, although performance is laggy to say to least, but at least there is image again, but I'm sort of afraid to turn off the computer now just in case it will be back to dead in the morning

Apparently not everyone - hopefully they will get this ironed out soon for those having the issue.

Yeah mine survived this  apparent apocalypse. I got the update Friday and played it through most of Saturday without issue.

I even had some time to do some performance metrics on ver 1.33 just like I did on 1.32. It seems they have reduced the GPU memory footprint of Dash by about 70MB (when inactive) and 180MB when active.

Awesome, thanks - seems that most issues have been fixed according to users on Reddit. Oculus Support seems to answer posts on Reddit quite fast - are we completely abandoned in here since Cybereality left?   😉

In general, maybe it's a good thing to wait a few days before updating  B) I'll probably close my eyes, hold my breath and install the 1.33 later today.

I just had to use repair twice and update the firmware twice. Even before the firmware update, I would get the white
room for a few minutes.  With all the old ones I would never see the white room.  Anyone else see it?
