Rift S working on my bros pc but not on mine

Hello,

i know there are a lot of posts of this issue but none of the suggestions there helped. so i hopelessly scream for help at this point.

i have my oculus for about 1.5 years now (not sure exactly). and been playing on it on my previous PC for the first year or so with no major technical issues

these were my PC specs:

i5 6400

16 GB RAM

GTX 1070 8GB

------------------

and then it started

i then upgraded my pc, CPU, RAM, MOBO and cooling... but stayed with the 1070 for the GPU

so this was is then

Ryzen 5 5600x

16 GB 3600 mhz

B550M DS3H rev.1

i think this was the phase i started to get crashes after playing 5-15 mins but im not sure

i wasn't really making track of this at this time

then i upgraded my GPU to 3070ti (*hehe boi...*and with this last upgrade all my old PC goes to my Bro)

the prob. with the 5-15 mins crash proceeded...

and then at some point it completely stopped working, by that i mean:

i open oculus then put the headset on

i then see the guardian setup window pop up in front

then move to the next window to set ground level (at this point im at 5-10 secs after im in VR)

i bend to get the controller to touch the ground, the the tracking stops i see all my surroundings as grey noise

with the guardian window stays till the lens go black and the orange light pop on the headset.

on the oculus app it says the D-port isnt recognized or its disconnecting all the time.

BUT!

when i plug the Rift S to my older pc that my bro has now

i can play freely on the google VR app and all works fine

thing we've tried on my new PC with my bro:

reinstall oculus

buy and install a PCIe UBS 3.0 (with no external power supply) extension on the mobo, plug the rift s usb to it (with no success)

format the pc

Greetings, Vlad_kalinsky! We can definitely see why this may be concerning. We appreciate you providing us with such scripted details.

It seems like there's a connection issue that's causing the games to crash. At this point, we would like you to collect your logs and submit a support ticket.

You can use the steps below to gather your logs:

  1. Open the Run window (Windows key + R).
  2. Enter and run: C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics\OculusLogGatherer.exe
    • The above link is the default directory. Bear in mind that if you installed the Oculus PC app to another drive you will need to update the command with the correct file path.
  3. Select the checkbox next to ‘Full logs’.
  4. Select "1 day" from the "Collect last" drop down list.
  5. Wait for the log collection to finish. This can take some time to complete.
  6. The program will automatically generate a zip file containing your logs, which will be saved to your desktop automatically.
  7. Attach the newly created zip file to your next support response.

Once you collect this information, one of our specialists can take a deeper look into the exact error that's causing your games to crash. Thank you for reaching out!
