Oculus, please fix our devices.

My Rift S stop working for about 1 month. I’ve searching around the web, and a find a lot of people with the same problem…”Sensors Can’t Track Headset.. and display three dots and the touchs on the ground”!! Please Please Please fix our Rifts !!!

Hey there pmneto, 


We are here to help you get back to gaming on your Rift S, don't worry!


Below we have provided you with a couple of different troubleshooting steps. Please follow as best as you can and take your time:

  • Reseat USB cable from the PC
  • Reseat cable from the headset
  • Reboot the PC
  • Open device manager
    1. Go to Universal serial bus controllers
    2. Uninstall/remove the Rift S sensor items listed.
    3. Once removed; click scan for hardware changes at the top of device manager and wait a few minutes for the items removed to come back.


To adjust the sensor: 

  1. Restart your PC
  2. Continue through the Oculus setup until you reach the sensor setup screen
  3. Unplug your sensor, wait a few moments, then plug the sensor back into your PC

Some additional information we would like you to keep in mind: 

  • Cover any windows, mirrors or reflective surfaces
  • If possible, try a different play space and note if the tracking works
  • Turn off any bright or flashing lights
  • If you are using a laptop, please be sure to connect it to power
  • Complete a repair of the Oculus software by launching the Oculus setup installer, and choosing the repair option.


If after attempting the troubleshooting steps, you still experience the same issue, please submit an Oculus Support ticket so that we can assist you further.
