Could you all please comment on here if you are having an issue with any Oculus product and windows 11 so i can gauge the impact of Oculus not updating the drivers?

Thank you for all your contributions, Tom

Forgive me but the way to treat W11 sounds like another Vista Scenario, Upgrading to W11 shouldn't have had any ramifications whatsoever. Its not the OS that's faulty here, the only faulty thing is Oculus and their slow reaction to something new. I do not know of any other program or game which has become so unstable due to W11 unless it was developed in 2007 and before (see the Medal of Honor series which failed to launch after W10 came out). If most users had to choose between Oculus and the new Windows I would think windows would win because just as it is new, most programs still work if not have been adapted to the early builds then the public builds.

I think the Win11 issue might be more due to improved security. I am not sure of the technical elements, but wonder if additional security to plug in devices via USB might be one cause. It is interesting that it only occurred after a certain update though, so the cause shouldn't be too difficulty to identify. I haven't seen any CVE warnings come out around that if it was a security issue.

In Oculus defence, I think they have gone through quite a few changes - including now losing their brand, so there might be an element of organisational shuffle and downsizing. I don't know of any organisational purchase or merging that has had a smooth ride and not resulted in downsizing or 'efficency' improvements. I also think that MZ's focus on Metaverse might be contributory. Oculus Quest 1 and 2 lost a lot of money for FB, even with the significant uptake of the device.
Still, the first rule of business is to look after your customers. There are some promising and exciting alternatives out there. I wonder what Oculus/Meta timeframe for bug fixes is?

Everything was fine until I upgraded to Win11. Since then my life has turned into hell. Had to go back to win10 losing a lot of personal files. And even so, after trying over a thousand different ways and following attempts from other customers and even from support here, which is completely lost, my glasses don't come back. The onbord camera stopped working too and now I have several problems. Anyway, i am in hell .

That doesn't work for me.  Can you give any more detail about any preparatory steps like clearing download caches first etc.?

Thanks!

do you have a log file? Because That was made for drivers, For me it wasn't really necessary to clear DL cache or anything else

@TomCgcmfc

 I said mainstream and i dont class Valve vr or htc vr as that, also steam VR plugs into the VR software for which ever headset you use so is not relevent. if you dont believe so i suggest you run a game via steam vr and go and look as you will see the oculus software running

@edaolioyou might want to have a look at the support link below and patch your software, not saying it will work but its worth a shot as using the patch got rid of those errors you have on mine but then i get USB driver errors which i think is likely to be the main culprit for any windows 11 issues

Any updates? This has been long enough now.
