can someone confirm this laptop would work for vr?

I have found this laptop for a very good price but can someone comfirm it works on vr? 
its a GV62 8RC-020UK (msi laptop)

No, that will not work properly with VR because it only has a gtx1050 2Gb gpu.  Also, that model has been discontinued so probably not a great buy anyway imho.

If you absolutely need a gaming laptop you should get one with a gtx1060 6GB or better gpu.  Also, try to find one with a separate DisplayPort socket that bypasses the typical laptop's integrated intel igpu.  All the latest Alienware gaming laptops have these features/options but of course you are going to pay a lot more for one.

IMHO you are far better off getting a custom made gaming desktop.  I learnt this the hard way (see my signature).
