For those who have received their device already; would you be willing to put up some videos of older adults first experience with virtual reality? I'm know the rift is a hit with the tech savvy, but I'm really curious to see the typical laymen or much older people's reaction To the device/experience. If you have any time please upload some video! (Youtube?) This would also help me understand what the expectations are for everyone else not involved in tech.. That is a major market and the reactions could spark some new ideas for software. Thank you!
i stuck a rift on a mid 40 year old non-techie last weekend. he doesn't play games or anything like that. he was impressed, but wanted to taek it off after about a minute.
he also said he'd wait until it was the technology was perfected, but i think it was a positive response from someone who isn't interested in computers, technology or video games.
Awesome, that's kind of what I've wanted to know. The controllers have always been a barrier to entry for older folks, the rift paired with the razor or possibly the kinect may be alluring enough to have them commit(?).
Well, the rift paired with a hydra is an imposing mass of wires for anyone to take in.
I've been putting all kinds of people in, and overall the impression has been between solidly good, and 'wow, that's amazing but now I feel sick.' Most people seem to agree that it needs to be taken in small doses at first.
