Cant Login Samsung Gear VR

Looked at a bunch of other posts and cant solve this issue. My headset was working fine until today where i was forced to get a using a meta account. Since then all i get is a "Facebook Session Expired" error. I've uninstalled Facebook and Oculus apps and reinstalled, no change. I created a new FB account and Linked it but again when i open the Oculus Gear VR app i get that error, rebooted the device, no change, removed all FB accounts from my device (S9+) and added only the new account, no change. My old Oculus account doesn't work as i get a "No network Connection" error there. WTF is up with Meta forcing users into this crap that is rife with issues. And I cant raise a ticket because there is no support option for Gear VR. And I refuse to buy a $400 headset just on principle...My existing one worked just fine until today.


I have seen and read with sadness the opinion of community members who write with disappointment that OCULUS and their supposed specialists do not have any concrete and conclusive answers to their questions, as to why the OCULUS application blocks the connection to the Samsung Gear VR.

That is why I posted a text to try to make them feel that they are useless and incompetent.

Instead of giving us COPY/PASTE answers with irrelevant links that don't give any results, maybe they should try to do their job seriously and as quickly as possible, to give us a possible final solution.

Before she died, my mother told me that I have a brother who works undercover as a fake specialist at Oculus after he was kicked out from Samsung Gear VR support. Anyway, we have to thank you for your attempt to solve the complicated problem with SAMSUNG GEAR VR and the Oculus application.

The members of this forum are smarter than you claim to be and they know very well that what you tried to suggest to us, as a possible solution to the problem, is friction with cold water on a wooden leg. Why?

There are too many variables to consider just when we think of all the versions of Samsung phones, plus the number of Android versions.

So don't forget who you are (read your own P.S message), and learn to use Google translate correctly when trying to convey messages that you don't understand the meaning of.

Better to be silent than to be ashamed. I wish good luck to those who want and try the method proposed by Hauhausen because it is still something more than NOTHING.

Time will show how valid the method is and if it works for at least one user.

Oculus must pay its programmers better who solve serious problems and displease customers.

That's the only way they can save the brand's reputation.

I had the same "No connection" error while logging into Oculus from Gear VR. Putting on a SIM did solve the problem for me. I can use my Gear VR now. Thank you!

My phone is Galaxy S8 and the SIM has mobile and data connection, FYI.

The SIMM inside the phone is useless. There are some posts here that offer us only "FAKE solutions" or possbile alternatives "just in case you want to try something new" but there is no 100% guarantee. All those posts are meant to prologue our waiting time until a so-called and supposed support will arrive. In reality, there is no OFFICIAL declaration/engagement from OCULUS or FACEBOOK that promises us a possible solution to the problem. Please notice that new users come here for searching REAL SOLUTION and after they write to ADMINS, they will remain with unsolved problems because nobody work for free to write new code or applications just for charity. We can also take into consideration the "fake ID's" created to deceive us and let us hope that "somebody" is still working for us. Behind those "specialists" are people who try to sell their dead Samsung Gear VR by publishing and spreading lies about the so-called SAMSUNG VR RESURRECTION. I do not want to be mean and take your hope. In the real life, there is a reward for all your hard work. Nobody will fix the problem with the Samsung Gear VR connection to Facebook for free.

J'ai vu et lu avec tristesse l'avis des membres de la communauté qui écrivent avec déception qu'OCULUS et leurs supposés spécialistes n'ont pas de réponses concrètes et concluantes à leurs questions, quant à savoir pourquoi l'application OCULUS bloque la connexion au Samsung Gear VR.

C'est pourquoi j'ai posté un texte pour essayer de leur faire sentir qu'ils sont inutiles et incompétents.

Au lieu de nous donner des réponses COPIER/COLLER avec des liens non pertinents qui ne donnent aucun résultat, peut-être devraient-ils essayer de faire leur travail sérieusement et le plus rapidement possible, pour nous donner une éventuelle solution finale.

Avant de mourir, ma mère m'a dit que j'avais un frère qui travaillait sous couverture en tant que faux spécialiste chez Oculus après avoir été expulsé du support Samsung Gear VR. Quoi qu'il en soit, nous devons vous remercier pour votre tentative de résoudre le problème compliqué avec SAMSUNG GEAR VR et l'application Oculus.

Les membres de ce forum sont plus intelligents que vous ne le prétendez et ils savent très bien que ce que vous avez essayé de nous suggérer, comme solution possible au problème, c'est le frottement avec de l'eau froide sur une jambe de bois. Pourquoi?

Il y a trop de variables à prendre en compte juste quand on pense à toutes les versions de téléphones Samsung, plus le nombre de versions Android.

N'oubliez donc pas qui vous êtes (lisez votre propre message PS) et apprenez à utiliser Google Translate correctement lorsque vous essayez de transmettre des messages dont vous ne comprenez pas le sens.

Mieux vaut se taire que d'avoir honte. Je souhaite bonne chance à ceux qui veulent essayer la méthode proposée par Hauhausen car c'est quand même quelque chose de plus que RIEN.

Le temps montrera à quel point la méthode est valide et si elle fonctionne pour au moins un utilisateur.

Oculus doit mieux rémunérer ses programmeurs qui résolvent de sérieux problèmes et déplaisent aux clients.

C'est la seule façon de sauver la réputation de la marque.

I've got an S10 and putting a SIM with data made no difference for me. As I said to the support person in the ticket, I logged the transport i.e. WiFi or LTE is the issue it looks like an authentication issue between system once your account is moved over. So I'm still suck with I can log the bug report I've been asked to log as it requires me to log into the account using the account that I can't log into. Defies logic I know.

thanks for the info. Is this the official steps to fix it? seems support has gone quiet and don't really have any solutions. 

Le casque GEAR VR est compatible jusqu'au S9+ ... Donc sûrement normal que ça ne fonctionne pas ... je te laisse découvrir les différents téléphones compatibles en cherchant sur Google.

Just found my stuff vr headset toward the rear of a cabinet and set it up. It introduces all that fine yet the oculus gear vr application wont permit me to login regardless of what I do.

I have tried many different ways to get into my gear VR, and so far it mostly has been a complete waste.  I did manage to get samsung vr to work, but its not working like a proper vr, just like watching a 2d movie, not 3D vr as it should be.
