I've been struggling for days now trying to read NFC tags in a Gear VR Unity app. One of the problems is that you can't seem to change the MAIN activity in the manifest when using the Oculus plugin. It's not easy to bring an NFC plugin together with the Oculus plugin.
But also, as long as one wears the Gear VR on the head, NFC tags seem to get ignored entirely. I only hear the sound effect of a discovered NFC tag when the Gear VR is put off. But even then, no luck reading them in my app.
I managed to read a Tag that has been used to start my app (calling getIntent from C# without a plugin), but I need to read NFC tags also while the app is running.
