City Planning and Urban Design with Oculus Rift

I brought one of our early prototype city models into Oculus Rift - Virtual Dubuque! Beware of floating trees and screwy normals / uv's.. just a really early WIP. We have a new city build that has a lot more detail, but it's not ready for primetime yet.

OK, this was interesting. Still seems very rough around the edges, some low quality textures and the scale of certain objects was off (like the benches in relation to the cars), but interesting nonetheless. Certainly pulls you into the location more than a picture or streetview/quicktimeVR would.

Yeah, it's a pretty crude build. Interestingly, it seemed somewhat more passable in a small frame web player, but when you're *there* in a Rift, suddenly every little detail makes a huge difference.
