I haven't implemented any controller support, so you're right, it won't work right now. This was initially purposely intended to prevent motion sickness (forcing the player's head rotation does induce it), but you make a really good point as the game was designed to be a 360 experience, which can become a problem when sitting on a plane 🙂
I'll try to see if I can add this kind of control for a future release, but I want to make sure players don't use it by default, but in special cases like yours.
