Good news here... we have great progress in developing a new architecture including support for DirectX 11 for Vireio Perception !
After finishing Vireio Perception v2.0.0 we more and more thought about DX11 and adding also support for AR-devices (Hololens, CastAR,...), additional input devices (Oculus Touch, Razor Hydra,....) and more future stuff that should eventually come.
The problem: Doing this all in a pure hardcoded driver would eventually result in a desaster !
So, since more than a year we now work on a solution and this eventually comes close to release.... you may be curious about this 😄
For the last months we were fully concentrated on the D3D11 core of the new driver version. We faced troubles with multi-threading, the constant buffers regarding the different render stages (Vertex-, Hull-, Domain-, Geometry and Pixel Shader) and eventually with the driver performance.
But this is now all done and we come to an acceptable framerate in a first "Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor" benchmark.
You guys are doing an AMAZING job, I already finished both Bioshock 1 and 2 from start to finish with Vireio on my DK2 and it was an awesome experience. Can't wait for this version!
We are proud to announce Vireio Perception v4 driver release this friday, 6th of May, 2016 !!
And, yes, our first game supported for this version is... Fallout 4 !! Play this one on your DK1 (SDK 0.8), DK2/CV1 (SDK 1.3.1) in full stereo with direct memory head + positional tracking !
