I'm asking this because Unity itself does not really limit sizes for their icons and splash images. Right now, the splash image looks very bad. Where do I get the necessary resolutions for my app for the Oculus Go?
Do you mean the "Made with Unity" image that displays when you run the app? If that is what you mean you can just create an image yourself with Photoshop, and you can use just about any resolution you want. Oculus Go will display it the way it does any splash image. There is no restriction on that.
@Truthveyor yes, I'm talking about the substitute of the "Made with Unity" logo. I know I can choose any resolution. The problem I am facing appeared when I used ad 2048 squared image. It looked really jagged either because the device calculated a lower res version with a bad algorithm, or the image is just crammed onto the quad it's supposed to be displayed on. I think it's the latter because moving the head makes inner image edges flicker as if the pixel density was still high and slight movement already results in choosing a different pixel. This leads me to the conclusion that there must be an "optimal" resolution.
@"holospaces.user" I see what you mean. I don't think it's a big issue, but I suppose a slightly time consuming way to test it is to try out different resolutions until the image looks better.
I have a feeling they will all look similar though.
I actually cannot believe that that's true. The Store Assets Guildeline is so detailed, why would they leave us "trying" the best resolution on the device?
