Hi

I get a white screen on the DK2 and get this error when turning on the DK2 in extended mode with the latest runtime. Any ideas ?

Seems i'm not the only one:

having same thing with my single 970. If oculus refuses to fix this simple and stupid problem that's been out since may then I'm probably not gonna be getting a consumer version if they're even too lazy to fix this.

I'm really sorry about this. The team did find one cause of the problem (plugging the DK2 into the wrong port on multi-GPU systems) but it's possible there are multiple root causes that manifest with the same error message. I would certainly like to dig further into it and resolve the issue. Can you provide the first two logs from this post?

I did a full clean install of Win 7 and installed the latest runtime and i still got the error although it was a different port number and ID.

All windows updates were installed.

Also having this issue, my logs are below. This wasn't happening until recently, maybe something in recent Nvidia drivers...

So I recently upgraded to 0.6.0.1 and I'm getting this error whenever I'm trying to run extended mode. Error is slightly different but similar enough that I'm sure its the same error. Error is "64681-Public TCID:184145 is not responding". I only have a single GPU so its not a multiGPU error. Its ashame that I cant run extended mode because Frontier refuses to update Elite Dangerous to the newest SDK. This sucks.

Hi Cyberreality

Rather than making my own thread, I thought I would just add my voice to the people having this issue with the 0.6.0.1 runtime.

My DK2 runs perfectly fine in direct mode but I get the black screen in the rift if I try to start up extended mode. As it is now, the screen goes black...I get the rotating circle and then the same error messages as reported in this (and other ) thread(s). If I close the error message, the screen flashes on for a brief period (seconds only) and then the error happens again...this can be repeated ad nauseum.

I am using a new 4k monitor at the moment, but a few days ago I was using my old 1080p HDTV as a computer monitor and when that was plugged in, I could close the error message this issue brought up and after after two or three times of doing so, the error would stop and the rift would then work in extended mode fine.

I do have the two log files you normally request, but I can not log into this forum on my actual computer for some reason (I am typing this on my iPad)... So I can't post/upload them them yet. I get an infinite rotating circle whenever I try to log into the forum on my gaming machine. I have tried deleting the board cookies as suggested in the FAQ but to no avail.

Anyway, hope you find the solution from the other guys' logs

If it's of any help I also am only running a single video card (980ti) and run time 0.5.0.1 works fine.

Cheers

Strange. I was told the infinite circle thing was fixed. Can you go to id.oculus.com and logout and login again and see if you can get to the forum? Also can you try a different browser (if I remember correct, there was a problem in IE but Firefox and Chrome should be OK).

Thanks mate, logging out and in did not work in IE but I have been able to get access to the forum again using Chrome.

My logs are attached to this post. I should clarify that (upon double checking again just now) the actual error message I am receiving is slightly different to the one in the thread title, namely;

64681-Public TCID:184145 is not responding error.

I have just tried plugging the rift into my video card directly with the HDMI cable rather than using the DVI adapter (I think that's what it is called) provided with my DK2 (My old monitor was HDMI only so I had to use the DVI adapter previously for the Rift. My new monitor allows me to use a display port leaving the HDMI free for the Rift. I figured I may as well give that a go, but there is no difference unfortunately, the rift still wont work in Extended mode.

I hope you are able to figure this out in due course, keep up the good work as I absolutely love my driving sim experience with the rift! You guys are magicians as far as I am concerned!

😄

EDIT: I forgot to mention, upon turning the rift off again (but still in extended mode) the rift configuration utility also gives the error message as shown in this screenshot. I don't think the Tracker Sync cable is actually disconnected or faulty given the DK2 works fine in Direct mode (with all runtimes) and fine in Extended mode with the earlier runtime (0.5.0.1).
