Decided to finally check out the Multicrew update for Elite. Lo and behold, my Rift is not displaying anything. I hear home's fire, but there is nothing displayed on my headset - backlight doesn't even come on. I also get the notification "Your guardian system isn't working right now. Click here to check our support article" but nothing happens when I click it.
I haven't used my Rift in a hot minute - I want to say before the Windows 10 Creator's update is the last time I used it, and it was working flawlessly then. The only other thing that I think has changed since then is that I removed the "Oculus Tray Tool" from my Windows startup. At one point I wound up disabling the Oculus Library Service from MSConfig to keep Oculus from maxing out my disk read/write while i'm trying to load games. Service has been re-enabled, but when I try to start it manually I get an error and the log in Event Viewer reports: "The Oculus VR Library Service service terminated with the following service-specific error:
There are no more files."
Troubleshooting steps i've taken: - Reinstalled Oculus Home software. I tried a repair, it failed and asked me to restart my computer and then It reinstalled everything from scratch. (Also, since then none of my installed apps show up in my Library in Home) - Rolled back NVidia display drivers to 381.89, as per yesterday's post regarding the black screen issue. - Verified I have the right Fresco Logic drivers installed.
Yeah it started yesterday for me also. I got it to work once, just by close and restarting Oculus software. But now it doesn't work at all. I have tried everything mention above.
So, for me downgrading to 381.89 does solve it. I did a "Clean install" with the checkbox in the installer. Note that it worked fine on that driver previously. I was never able to see the star trek Home update, so it's possible that update caused it. Logs attached, error was reproduced at 06-02 08:09.
I just got my Rift in yesterday and at first it worked fine. After about 30 mins of use my video goes completely black but I still hear sound like you. I have a GTX 1070, and I'm using my motherboard USB ports which is a Gigabyte Aorus Ga-Z270X Gaming 7. I will try downgrading to 381.89 and see if that works for me.
Update: Installing the 381.89 did not work for me. After about 5 seconds the screen went black.
Almost glad to see the issues as I have the same as of Friday. Tried reinstalling everything. Updating all drivers. Going to roll back now see what happens.
