Brand New Oculus - Hypersensitive Controllers

We just bought an Oculus Quest and got stuck trying to set it up. It's not even connected yet. It's charged, and we're in full light, but when we put on the headset and the hand controllers, they're so sensitive that the slightest movement sends them wildly swinging and shaking. We can't get close to pointing them at a "continue" button and clicking next, so we're dead in the water. (We've never used an Oculus before but we're both technically very competent people). I can't seem to find an answer online but maybe I am not using the "right" words to describe the problem. Any insight would be appreciated! Otherwise we'll just have to return this.

Hey vals_oculus, welcome to the Quest family! We hate hearing you're having issues with your controllers right out of the box, but rest assured, we're here to help. You mentioned the lighting in your room is well lit which is a great callout so thanks for that information. We do suggest trying to dim the lights if you're able to. It could be too bright, so consider turning off a lamp or closing the blinds if you have the option. Also, you should consider rebooting the headset by holding the power button down for at least 30 seconds. If that doesn't help, go ahead and factory reset your headset. Since it's a new device you won't have to worry about losing any data on the headset. You can follow these instructions to perform a factory reset.
