Can't add payment

I've tried adding 2 different cards as a payment method, the first says there was an error and to check my card info yet I've checked multiple times and it's fine, for the second one it says invalid card ID even though I've put it in multiple times and know it is right. I have done it on 3 platforms, them being Phone, PC and even the headset itself.

Hello there! Thank you for brining this to our attention, we know the feeling and would love to get your payment method added! Thank you for letting us know what steps you have already tried, its really helpful when deciding what troubleshooting steps to take next! With that being said, we would like to start by first confirming a couple of requirements that are needed in order to add a payment method to your account. These requirements include:

  • The card must be associated with a billing address
  • The card must be able to have funds added/reloaded to it. E-cards and virtual MasterCards should work, but most Gift cards do not have this option
  • There cannot be purchasing restrictions placed on the card.
  • The network cannot have any purchase restrictions to prevent online payments
  • Are you using a VPN? VPNs have been know to cause issues with adding payment methods

If your cards meet these requirements and you're still unable to add them as your primary payment method, then please follow the steps below to see if your error gets fixed: 

  • Please try connecting to a different network. A personal hotspot connection has resolved this issue before
  • Restart your device
    • Oculus Home PC software (repair your software, by following this link: https://ocul.us/3M8ghPR, and restart your computer)
    • Oculus Mobile app (Uninstall then reinstall the app on your phone and try again) 
    • Inside the Oculus device (Perform a Factory Reset on your headset by following the link: https://ocul.us/3Hjr85T! Don't forget to turn on Cloud Backup to save game data from being erased during the factory reset. More information on the Cloud Backup feature here: https://ocul.us/3M5E9DB!)
  • Try other web browsers (Chrome, Edge, FireFox, etc.)
  • Check with your financial institute for any restrictions (Only if your payment method has been declined by other US based companies)
