I need help with the tracking on my oculus and the remotes are not connecting

Hey there! 

 

We appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us today. We noticed you're experiencing issues with your headset not tracking properly and on top of that you stated your remotes are not connecting. Just so that we're on the same page are you talking about your touch controllers? 

 

Even so we're here to ease you of this stress and step in. We understand how this can be a hinderance in your VR experience, so let's get straight to work!

 

Every so often, our gamers can run into this issue for a various of reasons. We will go ahead and go through them and how we can fix it down below: 

 

  1. Check your environment: If you want the tracking to work smoothly on your headset, your play space should have bright lightening. If the room you're playing in a dark or not well lit area your headset may lose the ability to properly track.
  2. Clear your Guardian history: Clearing your Guardian history can often fix the issue. Once you clear your Guardian history, you'll need to re-draw your Guardian boundaries. [ Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Headset Tracking | Meta Store, click here to get more details. ] 
  3. Restart your headset: 
    •  To restart your headset: 
      • With your headset on and powered on, press and hold the power button on right side of your headset until you see the Power off screen. 
      • Select Restart, your headset will turn off and then turn back on. 
    • If you're unable to restart your headset:  Restarting your Meta Quest 2 | Meta Store
      • Press and hold the power button for at least 10 seconds. This will manually turn off your headset. 
      • Wait 30 seconds.
      • Press and hold the power button until your headset turns back on.
  4. Factory Reset Headset [ How do I factory reset my Meta Quest 2 or Meta Quest? | Meta Store
    • Before Factory Resetting your headset, please ensure you have the feature Oculus Cloud Backup enabled on your device. Click this link here: Oculus Cloud Backup | Meta Store. Once you have this feature enabled on your device, you can proceed with the process of factory resetting.
