Oculus Rift No HDMI Connection with seemingly no solutions

So I was playing VR when my screen went dark and stopped showing video but the sound was still working and now it's saying no hdmi connection but it's in and nothings wrong with my gpu. I don't want to buy a new CV1 cable because that costs $140 but I've tried everything including unplugging the main cable in the headset and replugging it, installing new driver updates, uninstalling my drivers and reinstalling them, trying it on a different computer, checking for bent pins(none to be found), and uninstalling and reinstalling oculus software several times. The only thing wrong with it is that the wires to the headset have gotten very twistes which is a common issue and I've had to straighten them out which has left some lumps in them, although I've had them for almost a year and they've never caused any issues. Is there any way I can fix it or should I just give up and buy the cable?
