Hey there julian.marsalis, this definitely doesn't sound right. Let's see what we can do to get this working for you!

To get to the root of this issue, we'd like to ask a few questions first.

  • What Oculus device are you currently using?
  • Are you using your headset standing, sitting, or laying down?

We also recommend trying out cleaning your sensors with a micro-fiber cloth, as that can often solve many issues.

We'll keep an eye out for your response!

Sitting reclined with controller in right hand and the headset is oculus quest 2.  Clean the sensor????

Hey there, thank you for getting back to us with that information! Does the issue occur when you use the headset standing as well?

Also, the sensors are the four small cameras that are on the outside of your headset. If they get dirty or smudged, it can impact many things, including controller tracking. You'll just want to gently wipe them down with a micro-fiber cloth.

Please let us know if this made any impact!

I tried cleaning still the same issue just browsing the screen moves around violently becoming unusable. It just started after the last update I think.

Hello! As this seems to be a software issue, our first recommendation is to reboot your headset.

  1. With your headset on, hold the power button on the right side of your headset down until you're prompted with a shut-down screen.

  2. Select Restart to reboot your Quest 2 or Quest.

If this does not work, please perform a factory reset. If the problem still persists afterwards, please submit a ticket and a member of our team will get back to you as quickly as possible.
