Oculus rift black screen.

I have just bought an Oculus rift for my laptop. The only things that come out are audio and an image on my pc showing what I am supposed to see but I cannot see anything through the Oculus itself. My laptop fulfills the requirements listed on the Oculus website and is deemed "VR ready" by the manufacturer.

If anyone has any idea of what is causing the screen to not show anything please help.

What is the model number of your Asus laptop? Or link to some page with the specs?

Try updating the drivers (including nvidia drivers) from this site
At least for some MSI laptop users using manufacturers drivers has solved the issue. However every laptop which doesn't state "oculus ready" is roll of dice.
If this doesn't help, gather some logs and see what they say (or link them here if you want).
