Quest 2 In-game Movement is Incredibly Buggy

Hornet_18

I just got my Quest 2 for Christmas and ever since I started using it, the movement in all games as been extremely buggy. Whenever I try to move in games such as Onward and Pavlov, the games act as if I hit a wall and just stops or moves in stutters. Sometimes It even starts run in the wrong direction or drift slowly when I'm not even touching the control sticks. Does anyone know a way to fix this issue? Thanks.

Hey there, Hornet! This sounds like it could be a tracking issue, try the following

  • General troubleshooting

  • Lighting
    • Is the play location well lit? (Turn on more light)
    • Is the play location too bright? (Adjust the intensity, or amount of light
    • Texture is also a factor with tracking. If there is not enough contrast between objects in the room, this could lead to tracking issues.
    • Try a different play area/room.
  • Power
    • Are the batteries well charged?
    • Remove batteries for a couple of minutes and re-insert them
    • Try new/different batteries
  • Reboot the headset or PC
  • Try re-pairing the controllers:
    • For the Quest 1 & 2, using the Phone App
  • Last resort: Factory reset (Ensure cloud save feature is on!)

The room is very well lit and I tried everything on the list but nothing seems to work.

I just did some more testing and I can confidently say that it is an issue with the left controller itself. It only happens when I try to walk directly forward and I noticed that when I try to walk forward, it doesn't work and sometimes makes me walk backwards. But after trying to walk forwards a few times I realized that if I press really hard, it works every time. This is, without a doubt, a defective controller.

Was this ever resolved? The same exact thing is currently happening too me.

I think it was a hardware problem so I don’t think there was any way to solve it on my own. I ended up just contacting support and I sent in the broken controller and they sent back a new one. Everything works fine now.

Did you have a warranty on it or anything like that or did they just fix it for free And also do you remember how long it took for you to get it back

I was having the same problem with hornet_18 but when I click on the link and sign in it says I’m not authorized to view the page I’ve done it on different devices so I guess I don’t understand why it’s not letting me submit a ticket
