Quest 2 guardian lag

Hello folks!


Just the other day I've started having this issue where the whole quest system starts lagging whenever the guardian appears. This only seems to be an issue when the link cable is active and I'm in a game but when I'm checking the app test for the cable it seems to be working fine.

Any tips and tricks?

  • What operating system are you using
  • What version of the headset is it on?
  • Is the pc on the same version?
  • Is this our Oculus fiber optic cable link? (all links are not created equal)
  • What graphics card do you have? is it up to date?

  • My card is the 2080 Super which has the latest drivers

Your PC is compatible and the headset is up to date. Can we make sure that you have the latest graphic drivers for your device? Can we also check that you have the latest version of Windows 10?

Please provide the logs once you have created a support ticket. Instructions for collecting logs are provided below:


  • Open the Run window (Windows key + R).
  • Enter and run: C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics\OculusLogGatherer.exe The above link is the default directory. Bear in mind that if you installed the Oculus PC app to another drive you will need to update the command with the correct file path.
  • Select the checkbox next to ‘Full logs’.
  • Select "1 day" from the "Collect last" drop down list.
  • Wait for the log collection to finish. This can take some time to complete.
  • The program will automatically generate a zip file containing your logs, which will be saved to your desktop.
  • Attach the newly created zip file to your next support response.
