Reccomendations for Oculus Face Pad Cover?

I just returned this one to Amazon by VR Cover. It fit horribly, the photo makes it look like it has padding, but this has none and the installation instructions were terrible. The bottom part of the cover has nothing to fit around so the ends just flop. At the top, at the time I did not realize you could pull your face plate off your Oculus, but I was not about to try to pull mine apart and the instructions did not bother to say that I could without damaging it.

Anyway, anyone have a cover they can recommend? Thanks! 🙂

True, it has no padding but the fabric is very thick and I think that this cover is very soft and comfortable.
But I 100% agree with the terrible way to fit this and the insanely poor design with the flopping ends where the nose is.
The only other cover I know is is WidmoVR, this also has rubber bands and looks to me much better than VRcover although the fabric is supposed to be thinner. https://widmovr.com/product/oculus-rift-cover/
(I haven't tested this yet however).
That being said, even with the VRCover terribad fitting and flopping around, it IS comfortable..so it does its job for what I wanted it.

I'd not think it would that hard to design something that fits well. I think what really got me was the instructions that were included. I looked all over for something to hook the two loops to, but as I said, I had no idea you could pull that face piece off and the instructions said nothing about pulling the face plate off. You can do that right?  🙂 And I was looking at an illustration of the face plate wondering what that was.  Maybe I'll give the ones I'm threatening to return another chance until something better comes along.

I got the VRCover Standard Version on Amazon for $50.  It comes with the facial interface and 2 pads (1 thin and 1 thick) along with the cloth cover that goes over the pad.

Right now I'm using the thick pad and it's very comfortable to me.  Way better than the factory one.

Maybe you would have better luck with a set that includes its own facial interface rather than something used to fit over the factory interface/pad.

Yeah, bought this one too and like it quite a lot. I think it's actually the one OP returned back BTW. The trick here is to ignore the fabric part and use the leathery inset "raw". I read someone's post on reddit about face pad being more comfortable this way and it seems the guy was right. Leathery part is soft and fits my face nicely. Plus as there are less stuff between the headset and the face, compared to using the cloth inset as well, air circulation is better which translates to less sweaty headset and no more fogged up oculars. All in all, very satisfied with VRcover so far but I guess YMMV. Still, if you bought one and dislike how it fits or hate floppy parts, try removing the fabric part of the cover and giving it another try.

EDIT: never mind, this one is *not* what OP bought and then returned. That would be the "cloth-only" option. It is bundled with "foam replacement" kit(the one I and Star-lizard bought) and is exactly what I think should be taken off the foam pad before installing it lol.

It's too bad you just can't buy the cover. Are they saying they redesigned the face plate so that it would be easier to apply a cover?

Well because choices are limited, I decided to keep the VR Cover cover now that I figured out how to put it on the OR.  😐 😛

On their website ARE actually very clear instructions/videos how to put on the Vrcover, why did you not check this? I am sure there is also tons of Youtube videos about it. Ok I see one video on the fabric cover page which does not show how to remove/put back the interface, but there is a video on the page with the Basic interface.

And..you CAN actually buy the fabric cover separately. It's $19 for two I think, while the WidmoVR is only one cover.

(The interface simply "snaps in and out" on the top of the Rift, and you can push it off with two thumbs relatively easily.)

It's really not rocket science to put the cover on, the problem is not "how difficult" this supposedly is....the problem is the shitty way how it flips and flops around once it's on.

I also just checked my leaflet that's in the box, it shows how to wrap the rubber strings around the top.
