Rift S - New L controller not working

cybernettr

My left Oculus Rift S controller still works, but it's started to get a little wonky at times, so I bought a new  L controller (not cheap) for testing purposes. Even though I removed the (fresh) battery from the old controller and put it in the new controller, and then booted my Rift S PC, the controller is not being recognized.

I do not see my left game hand, and when I click on the Info Panel (?) (far right) it shows the R controller but not the L. As soon as I transfer the battery to the old controller, both are recognized again.

I thought the controllers were more or less plug and play. Why is this not working? Is there a special procedure I must go thru to get the new controller to be recognized?

Yes.. you have to go In oculus settings to sync it. O was confused when I got my replacement as well.

https://developer.oculus.com/documentation/native/pc/pairing-touch-controllers/

  1. Open the Oculus app on your PC computer.
  2. Select Devices in the left menu.
  3. Under Rift S and Touch click Pair Device and then select Pair Touch.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to add your Touch controllers.
