Strange new problem

Just started happening. Oculus Home begins loading with the infinite grid room but only the top half shows. Bottom half is solid black. When first appearing in the home, you are placed what looks like 30 feet below the home outside any usable area. The only way to enter a program i.e. Google Earth, is to launch from PC. When the program opens you are under the map and unable to move into the playable area making the headset and controllers unusable. You cannot "fly up" into the map. Have uninstalled and reinstalled program, installed current video drivers, beta on and off and no solution. Has anyone experienced this and hopefully figured it out?

Getting that problem recently. After a short period of time the cameras switch on as if preparing to set the play area. Sadly though the set up play area messages do not appear and when looking around for them I spotted the outline of my play area on the ceiling. Uninstalled the oculus software and reinstalled it however the problem persists.

Hey there SunHawk7! Experiencing headset height tracking errors is concerning, but we do appreciate your efforts to troubleshoot the issue! We'd like to take a closer look into what could be causing this to happen, so please reach out to our Support team with your Oculus logs. One of our proficient agents would be delighted to provide you further insight! To gather your logs, please follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Run window (Windows key + R).
  2. Enter and run: C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics\OculusLogGatherer.exe
    • The above link is the default directory. Bear in mind that if you installed the Oculus PC app to another drive you will need to update the command with the correct file path.
  3. Select the checkbox next to ‘Full logs’.
  4. Select "1 day" from the "Collect last" drop down list.
  5. Wait for the log collection to finish. This can take some time to complete.
  6. The program will automatically generate a zip file containing your logs, which will be saved to your desktop automatically.
