Weird markings in display, worried something is wrong. Also Warranty question.

I was playing the free story "The Raven" from the Oculus Store, and I noticed if I looked straight up, I could see weird markings in my display.. almost like stains.  Then I started noticing it in other games, not all the time, and not always clear, but usually against a medium grey background.   If anyone would try The Raven and test it I would really appreciate it.   The markings look alot like this:  https://i.gyazo.com/70331a4d573a73039c976b2e022ce761.png, very heavy on one side, I'm hoping it's not a manufacturing defect.

It is very clear if you are in that game and look straight up.

Second question;  what is the warranty like for the Rift?  Do I have to send a card in, or fill something in with the seller?

I know the picture looks kinda like polarized lenses, but it's not like that, it's somewhat of a hard edge and it doesn't change if you move around.

hmm i noticed some different colors in the dark if you look above, but theyre smooth, nothing worrysome atleast.  So not sure what you mean.

As for the warranty, one only has to contact support by email.

Well in my case, it's not the color of the cieling, it looks like it's in the display, seperate from the image. It very much looks like a stain.

That looks to be in the field of what I'm talking about.  I'm wondering if it's just a viewing filter for that game to give atmosphere, but I have seen it, I believe in the grey right before home loads.  I don't know what color the displays are when they are off, or what material they are made of, but it literally looks like a discoloration.  I'm going to try two things; deleting the files in the link you posted, and also make a bunch of greyscale pics to test my view against.

Try these files in Oculus 360 https://us.v-cdn.net/6024342/uploads/editor/kq/7tri0uwz99g2.zip (gotten from https://us.v-cdn.net/6024342/uploads/editor/kq/7tri0uwz99g2.zip). Run them through Oculus 360 photo app(Put files in C:\Users\username\Pictures\OculusPhotos)

On my first rift both my bottom parts of both lenses had a grey/greenish grain across them(Half both lenses), on my new one its worse but more upper level and on the left lens it has near the bottom what looks like a purple finger...honestly I am fed up, I disabled spud for now and am unsure if I am gonna keep it, I hear disabling spud can cause other issues so its iffy, for such a device thats a consumer version I am disappointed.

Well I deleted the mashed and spud files, and sure enough the problem seemed ot have went away, been playing all morning and haven't noticed it.  That's so strange, I wonder what caused that.

The files came back for me sadly, they always
do...honestly I am at a lose and think quality control is not very good
over at oculus, also god rays seem worse on this one compared to my last
one...

Here's an easy-to-roll-back way of disabling it.  But use at your own risk, I have not read fully how these spud and mash files work and whether things like this will damage something.  I'm testing it right now to see if it gives me sharper colors and contrast like it claims.

Those god rays are a bummer.  Yeah I'm always on the lookout for the quality of my rift.  I'm just happy my problems are being fixed.
