quest 1 thumbstick detection while not using it

Hello guys,
Sometimes when going through the menu to start up a game i notice my trigger wont work because the controller says my right thumb is on the thumbstick and therefore cancels the trigger input to start up a game. I can easily prevent this for putting my thumb on the thumbstick again shortly, but its still pretty annoying at some times to think its just nonresponsive to find out that this is it again. Any tips on how to solve this? or is this because ive used my controller for some time now ( which also led up to left thumbstick drift) and should i send a support ticket to ask them to fix it? ive had the battery out for at least an hour, ive cleaned it with a dry cloth and ive also unpaired the controller and repaired it again with the headset.
