Unity 5.1 VR, Problem with Linear Color

Nyro

Hi guys, I'm having some problems with the new Unity 5.1. When I try to use linear color spacing and the "virtual reality supported" option enabled, I get the following on may Console:

[CAPI] LibOVR module is located at C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\LibOVRRT64_0_6.dll
SUCCEEDED(hr)
depthSurface == NULL || rcolorZero->backBuffer == depthSurface->backBuffer
refCount == 0

The Oculus(DK2) displays the health info and then goes black. Is that a bug or linear color are not supported?

Check the release notes. I think there is a known issue with linear.

I am having the same problem. Just checked the known issues and sure enough:

"Apps that use linear lighting won't render. Recommended to use gamma for now."

huh. Hopefully they fix this soon

Just saw this on the official unity forums:

Apps that use linear lighting won't render. Recommended to use gamma for now.

Thanks for the update, is this going to be fixed in the patch? This isnt a trivial setting... thanks!

Fix is currently scheduled for patch 2 which is either next week or the following week.

So not too bad 🙂

They seem to know about it: http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/psa-5- ... es.350644/

My question is, does the 0.7 Runtime work with 5.1.3 regardless?

EDIT: NVM, it does not seem to http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/oculus ... st-2271072
