You aren't alone. Not that it helps now, but you should have returned
the whole thing via Argos. The bespoke Oculus customer service is
appalling, if you have a physical problem with your device. I wonder if
you still have any ability to pursue them ...
Yes. The EU has a route for complaints as outlined in their supplemental
T&C. I live in the UK which is no longer part of the EU, so I am well
