Actually, I think Oculus always releases update after internal test. But
as we know, it's almost meaningless. Many people get problems every
time. Some of them are critical. PC app update isn't a big problem
because there are official & PTC version, ...
Oculus Link is using h264 codec. Max resolution of h264 is 4096x2304.
But max resolution of encode width is 4080. What's the meaning between
4080 & 4096? Also, Virtual Desktop seem to have higher than 4096 even in
h264. Curious. Hmmm... Oculus can't ...
The limit of encode resolution of Link is 2040x2160 per-eye. Virtual
Desktop is 2496x2592. Rendering resolution of VD is a bit lower than the
maximum rendering resolution of Oculus PC app, but encode resolution is
higher, so in many cases it looks be...
Your encode res width is 4080 (limit of Link) ? In current PTC v28,
actual encode res width is a bit higher than the value of debug tool. So
if we set 4080, Link won't work. We need to use around 4060 at max.
I got PTC v126.96.36.199.469 now. 72hz bug was solved. But Link got new
problems. lol - Dynamic bitrate of debug tool (new feature) is strange.
Even if I set 1000Mbps in it, the image has many encode noises like
fixed 200Mbps. So it's just useless. And ...
