Re: I need to extend my oculus link cable
You will most likely need to use and active extension cable. It uses USB power to repeat the signal so it doesn't degrade at long lengths. The only ones I've seen on amazon are either type A or they have an external power jack to boost the signal.
Re: Quest - Tracking Lost Problem
I also have the tracking lost problem.
Re: YAY OR NAY FOR SOFTWARE ROLL BACK OPTION
An unfair contract can be nullified.
Nope it can not, It is everyone's responsibility to read and fully understand the Terms & Conditions, by selecting
next or I agree
you have entered into a digitally signed contract and are bound by the T&C herin.
If you do not agree to or with the T&C then you simply select cancel and
the product for a full refund.
So in legal terms there's no such thing as an unfair contract, same goes for the excuse of 99% of people never read the T&C.
Re: [Oculus Link Problem] Oculus Software - Quest Update required - No Update available.
TL;DR delete and reinstall all of the c++redistributables helped me
Please excuse my bad english.
OK so this is what i had to do, to get everything working:
First it did not work. I installed the Oculus App on my PC. Then i connected the Quest with my brand new Link cable. Everything was OK all "green" and stuff. The App was on Version 14, the Quest on Version 13. The App tells me all the Time that i need to update my Quest, but there is no update. So i try it and everytime i try to get into the Rift Homescreen, i get a black screen or the three dots of death. I try and i try and i try and it wont work. So i say f*** this, i'm gonna play some Battlefield 5.
Then the Problems really started. Not a single game on my PC worked. Not on Steam, not on Origin, Battlenet...nothing. Everytime i try to start any game, i get an Error saying that some .dll is missing or it just wont work. So i had to google the Errors i get and i found out, that i have to deinstall and than install ALL the c++redistributable Versions.
So i deinstalled the Oculus App, deinstalled everything with c++redistributable in its name und installed everything again. First the c++redistributables and then the Oculus App again. Connected my Quest and everything worked again. I have no idea how this helped, but it did.
Re: v14 PTC PC Software Release Notes
ok oculus you call yourself a serious company and then i find this in the apps and features? you really are a joke of a company w
people are frustrated at your product and do endless reports/logs/feedback and it just feels like you are treating peole who feed you this info as nothing, im sick of hearing the "it could be old drivers" or "its could be so and so app" its about time you lot bucked your ideas up and stop treating people like financial support and give them what they paid for,
this is really sickening now when the only way you can do something you love is by VR now through a visual impairment and you spend £400 for a rift s aswell is just a kick in the genitalia

Re: How to snap object with OVR Grabbable?
Just create a box collider and rigid body around the handle of the sword and attach the "OVR Grabbable" script to it. Leave all the options default on the script. This main sword must have a box collider on the blade of the sword and a rigid body, but since there is no "OVR Grabbable" script, you will not be able to pick it up from there. Hope this helps. Worked for me!
Re: VR's future is in arcades
Vr arcades have short term potential. Back in the day video game arcades were big I loved them. The experiences were short and shallow for obvious reasons. Then came home gaming where you didn't have to keep putting in money to continue. Experiences were much deeper etc. Yes arcades with more room to have room scale and set up for that is great but as vr becomes more mainstream more people will want the home experience and vr arcades will have a harder time surviving.
Re: Lenovo Working on New Standalone VR Headset (Please Keep to Subject)
Come on Kevin, please try searching before making new threads.
Same link already posted as a thread 4 weeks ago and you even posted twice in that one in response!
Re: New HTC Range - The Thread
But not at a decent price. Again. They just don't seem to learn any lessons at all from previous mistakes. And these mistakes have been repeated continuously for the last 15 years or so.
If you're going to pay $900 for a Cosmos with Vive wands and 1.0 base stations you might as well pay an extra $100 and get a Valve Index headset with 2.0 base stations and Knuckles controllers.
